I never leave reviews, but I have to share my amazing experience as a customer of St. James Jewelry Shoppe. Two years ago, my husband and I worked with Lenny on a custom wedding band design to match my antique engagement ring. Not only did Lenny do an amazing job, but he created the ring quickly and for an extremely reasonable price. Because we were so pleased with my wedding band, we wound up working with Lenny again on a custom necklace the following Christmas. After a brief meeting, Lenny wound up creating the necklace--and, truth be told, it wasn't exactly what I had in mind. This was my fault, as the necklace itself was beautiful, but I had something specific in mind and hadn't adequately communicated my vision to Lenny. I was worried that I would have to accept the necklace, as it was custom made for me, but Lenny saw my disappointment and immediately took it back, and said not to worry, that he would just make me a new one. I couldn't believe it! I had never experienced customer service like that before. Within a few months, Lenny re-made the necklace, and it was exactly what I wanted--for a cheaper price than he had originally quoted. A 90+ year old, disabled friend needed his watch repaired. I took it to Saint James Jewelery shop because it was nearby. I was amazed at the warm greeting I received from the "counter girl". The watch band was broken but I explained that it had sentimental value to my friend and if possible to repair the original band. She took it into the back. Lenny came out 15 minutes later and handed me the watch....fixed. It was clear that Lenny understood that a piece of jewelery is often much more than just a piece of jewelery. Lenny is an amazing jeweler. After visiting many jewelry shops on Long Island we picked Lenny because he didn't try to upsell us and was honest. At the time we were looking at wedding band options for both myself and my husband. We were looking at both gold two tone for my husband and platinum versus white gold for me. Unlike all the other shops, he didn't immediately say "it's extra "x" for platinum". Gold was at an all time high and he explain that actually it might be about the same.
