CrossFit North Tribe — Local services in Town of Southold

I couldn’t be more elated to write this review of CrossFit North Tribe as I wait for my wife’s to-go order of French toast and my steel cut oatmeal -_-, at Crazy Beans. If I sound like a tourist I am sorry - I’m just starving.

Dan, Sarah, and the rest of the team have one of the most legit programs, facilities and communities going in the CrossFit world. In my 10th year involved in CrossFit as a coach, member, and advocate - I can only describe their establishment as refreshing and motivating.

I was on vacation for an entire week in Greenport. Normally I’d do a few drop-ins, and get the rest of my activity from hiking, running etc. I am training for a triathlon and have been dialed in to my schedule and routine. I was nervous that vacation might throw a wrench in the chain but it was the opposite; because of Dan and the team at North Tribe.

I texted the number on the website before arriving. I explained what I was looking for and waited for a response. Within an hour, Dan had responded. It was welcoming and conversational, not transactional. Our conversation led to me training at the facility for the entire week. It never felt rushed, I never felt out of place, if anything it felt like I had been working out there for years.

While I would train, I would get to see private clients during their sessions. I would get to see the highly thought out programming the team would prescribe. The environment fosters safety and progress. For all ages. Because of my experience, I will be moving Southold to the top of my vacation destinations from here on out. I’m coming back in a few months just to unwind once more and spend time at North Tribe.

Change takes time, patience and expertise - those qualities are found at CFNT/FA in spades. Over the past 16 years (on and off) I've happily worked with Sarah and Dan to create a healthier, happier, fitter me. In classes, one-on-one sessions, and on my own they have guided me every step of the way. Their commitment to their members is something I trust. Crossfit was intimidating at first but now it's fun and I look forward to my 6am workout buddies. All the coaches are fantastic, truly experts in the field, who take the time to make sure we are all safely lifting lots of weights and doing complex maneuvers. I was one of those people who has tried going to a regular gym, doing spin classes or yoga classes, and not really seeing the results I was looking for. Crossfit North Tribe not only has helped me improve my overall fitness and nutrition, but it is a place where I feel welcomed and comfortable to workout. All the coaches are so supportive and really break down the movements step by step to ensure proper form. It’s a real community of people I have grown to love just as much as the workouts- well maybe not burpees not sure I will ever love those.
