I had a great experience meeting with Joe and discussing the tattoo I wanted after viewing his art and seeing the beautiful work he does. I gave him a printed copy of what I wanted and told him he could put his own spin on it and we discussed some great ideas he had. I scheduled an appointment for over a month away. A little over a week out I had asked to see how the art was shaping up and he said he would work on it the weekend prior to my appointment. This was on a Wednesday and my appointment was Friday of the following week. I didn't hear anything and checked back in on the following Wednesday. He said he'd have the art to me the next day. At 7pm the night before my appointment I again asked about seeing the design as I didn't want to walk into the parlor without knowing what was permanently going on my body. He sent me several other designs from other artists that had nothing to do with the original art I had given him. So I re-sent the image we had discussed. At 8:30 he sent me a half done drawing and I told him to cancel the appointment because I was uncomfortable with what was going on. He said he had personal stuff going on during this, which I completely understand and have empathy for, but the topper for me was he said he'd get back to me to reschedule the next day with some availability and hasn't reached out. This all happened a week ago. So, it's apparent he doesn't want my business for a $500-600 tattoo. I'm not using him or any one from this shop. I have another session booked with an artist at a different shop who literally started drawing my tattoo for me at the consultation. I already know a month out from the date an idea of what this design looks like after Joe told me most clients don't see the art until the day of their appointment, which my other artist has immediately disproved and goes against what was said in other communications. Joel was great! Honestly, the whole shops vibe was great. I was a walk in and Joel was so patient and so friendly with all of the small details I wanted or wanted to tweak a little. We had good conversations and I liked his vibe. I would absolutely recommend him! I got an outline of my dogs ears and some wild flowers. I wanted something super simple and easy to make out at first glance. I lost my soul dog right before Christmas so this was very important for me to get it right. Yes it was slightly impulsive lol but it turned out great! All of the other artists here were super friendly. As a woman who’s been tattooed by men and women I felt comfortable with Joel. I’ve had others be very cocky and not really interested in getting everything right/making my vision come to life but that was not the case at all with Joel. Thanks again Joel! I love it! Melanie did my tatoos after my reconstructive surgery. So real looking, it's amazing! It's very hard to look at your chest and see nothing but scars. Melanie did such a fantastic job, you could never tell they aren't real. It's so fantastic to feel whole again. And to make it even better, Melanie is friendly, and very considerate. She makes you feel at home immediately. I can't thank her enough, not only for how good I look now, but for making it a comfortable experience. Also, I've met quite a few women who said they didn't bother with the tattoos because their husbands didn't care. Mine said the same thing but, think about it.
