Originally purchased a âtuxedoâ online from Kohls for my son, for Prom. Hated it! It looked âfineâ, but was cheap garbage. Went to Jos A Banks and we are SO happy we did! Went in thinking we would rent a tux, decided to buy a suit because my son is tall and really thin and the fit would be so much better (and he really wanted blue). Joseph was super patient; as we tried a tux, then a sale suit, and then a second sale suit in a blue we liked better. Jacket sleeves didnât look right. Joseph called the tailor over and he said âorder him a size down because this sleeve will never be rightâ. I was concerned about going down a size because my sonâs arms are very long. He knows what he is doing: smaller size is perfect and alterations he did on the pants were perfect (and reasonable!: $15!). Joseph is a great salesperson, super accommodating and patient and will run all over the store to get things to try. If he doesnât know something, he asks an Associate. All the staff was very friendly. When we returned to pick up the suit, Joseph was in the back at first, but then came up front and helped us pick out socks and another dress shirt. Told my son to come back in with his Prom pictures because he âreally wants to see it all togetherâ. Keep doing what youâre doing because customers will return. We havenât had such friendly, knowledgeable help like that in years!! And my son feels like a million bucks in the suit, that he canât wait to...
Read moreTerrible. I don't know who I'm more upset at, Jos. A. Bank or myself. They did not have their advertised sale suits in my size, 48R ?, so I had to move up to the more expensive suit style. Purchased two suits for many, many hundreds of dollars then had to pay more than $60 a suit for alterations. NO FREE Alterations! Two weeks and two fittings later, the suits are done. Alterations are horrible. $125 for alterations and the suits are worse then when I first tried them on. I needed Ms. Thim in Poughkeepsie to save and repair the damage done to my new, overpriced suits. I needed a suit for a trip and Jos. A. Bank was a mistake. Had to go to SARAR at Woodbury Commons and got a great suit at a fair price. Should have gone there first. Sales personnel may be wonderful but no one purchases a $400 suit because of someone's smile. It is the price, quality and fit of the suit that gets returning customers. I could have received a back rub while shopping. It still would not have made this purchasing experience any better, well,...
Read moreVisited the store while searching for a new suit, pants, and shirt. My wife and I were greeted quickly and courteously. We browsed for a few minutes until a fitter was available, which was acceptable.
We were informed that items were on sale as well as seeing the tags clearly displayed. Selecting a suit and pants that fit was uncomplicated and both my wife and the fitter helped guide the experience. Selection made, fitting completed, and we were assisted in picking out some shirts and a tie that would compliment the suit.
The only minor issue came when picking up the suit. The pants had not been finished, which is a bit of a surprise, as the suit needed no adjustment. The possible source of confusion was likely due to the fact that the suit on the rack had a fabric slub on the lapel and a new one was graciously obtained for us. I believe the new suit arrived and that triggered the call and the assumption on their part that all was set to go.
Aside from the minor issue, I will return to this location for my work...
