Banter by Piercing Pagoda — Local services in Town of Yorktown

I would prefer to give this place zero stars if I could. I took my daughter there to get a second hole in her lobes. The lovely young woman who helped us was great. She explained everything thoroughly, was very sweet and patient with my daughter who is 14 years old. She was laughing and joking with her. She sold me on the protection plan in case of anything happening and told us that they would re-pierce or replace the earrings for free if needed because of the so-called insurance. Well two days later my daughter woke up to find the earring in her left ear fell out overnight. She found it in her bed. She tried to get it back in unsuccessfully. So I thought no problem, we can just go back and they can either help get it back in or re- pierce the ear if necessary. I mean we have the protection plan right? Wrong. I could not find the receipt that she apparently emailed to me. I searched spam, trash, primary. It wasn’t there. I was then told by another employee how to search my email. I think I know how to do that. I asked if they could look up the protection plan or sale in their system. I mean one would think they would keep records of all this. Nope. All I got was “so sorry without the receipt there is nothing we can do.” Ok sure. So there’s no way to look up the protection plan, really?Then this other employee proceeded to blame my daughter for the earring falling out by suggesting maybe it got caught in her thick, curly hair or maybe she pulled it out overnight somehow. My daughter is 14. She was asleep and woke up to a freshly pierced ear without an earring. She did not pull it out by mistake, nor did her hair cause the earring to fall out. This same employee then tells my daughter “maybe you should wear a bonnet when you sleep so your hair doesn’t get caught in your earring.” Anything to place the blame on my kid. So we left there without getting any help that was guaranteed by this protection plan and my daughter disappointed and upset. Needless to say we won’t be going back there. I paid $135 for them to tell me sorry we can’t look up your sale or protection plan and we have no record of emailing you the receipt. We should have went to Claire’s like we did the first time my daughter got her ears pierced. We had no issues with them. And the earrings didn’t...

I don't usually leave bad reviews, but this store sells cheap jewelry that will break for expensive prices. I got 3 items from Banters and they all had issues. First Item I got is a mesh necklace. Second item was a cross with diamonds for my fiancé (our anniversary ). The mesh necklace broke, & the diamonds from the cross came out. I went to the store , was able to switch the cross for another style (without diamonds ) the mesh necklace was replaced for a new one ( did not switch it for a new style) BIG MISTAKE . I barely wore the new mesh necklace , and finished paying the necklace for almost $400 last month. It broke again two days ago on the same side it had previously broken the first time I got it. I could not get a new one or get it fixed . All I got is “ sorry we can’t do anything you’ll need to call costumer service “ “ we can sell you a new one “ . I am so disappointed $400 wasted , barely used the necklace (is literally brand new), & no way to get it fixed by them. I returned home with a broken necklace I barely worn, & with my money wasted . Tomorrow I will call customer service, and see if they can do something which I doubt. I don't expect anything from this company but disappointment. I WILL NEVER get anything from this place again. I recently visited Banter Piercing at Jefferson Valley Mall Yorktown Heights Ny and had an amazing experience! Chloe was my piercer, and I can’t say enough good things about her. She was incredibly professional, making sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout the process. Her caring nature really put me at ease, and I appreciated her attention to detail.
