The one star is for the attendants and cashiers because they are always supportive and cordial. I would give this store negative stars but it wouldn't be an accurate representation of those who assist their customers. This store deserves the lowest rating because not only is the pricing escalated, but in most cases the items are moldy or outdated. It is a fact that most things are costly today, but the pricing in this establishment is truly inflated. The reason this is so annoying is because the merchandise being passed on to patrons is NOT fresh. How can a store consistently have outdated and sub-par produce AND sell ice cream that is freezer burnt. It seems these outcomes manifest as a product of two possibilities: Staff are not ensuring timely dispersement of goods after a delivery.....OR a. Produce, frozen goods, and especially ice cream are to be kept at specific temperatures at all times. This is not being done. Ice cream becomes freezer burnt after melting and then re-frozen. Cheese will begin to show mold spores if it sweats (due to inadequate temperatures) and is then refrigerated at its desired temperature. Is this establishment purchasing sub-par goods purposely without care for the consumer? I hate to think this is even a possibility. I've audited many establishments, this one needs to have their protocols revamped. I've tried to hold off on this review and give this store the benefit of the doubt, but it has been 8 months and nothing has changed. I think this is the norm and what the community has come to expect. In my opinion, it is worth the 25 minute drive to patron another store in another town to receive goods worthy of your hard earned money. The community...
Read moreVery clean store, high quality produce, expensive compared to Walmart. This store is a lot like H.E.B. on a smaller scale. It has 5 star products and their generics are high quality also. It's a small town grocery, though. They have a pharmacy, limited floral, greeting cards & magazines, some seasonal items (lawn chairs, bug spray, holiday gift sets), a deli with seating; wine beer, & mixers; limited selection of specialty meats & cheeses, limited organic produce, some health food items, some vitamins & supplements, limited fireplace, campfire, wood stove items (Duraflame); decent coffee items (no whole bean), limited office supplies, some baby stuff, some cooking & dining ware, some household & auto repair items like tape, oil, light bulbs. There is no butcher, no fresh seafood, no bakery, no garden stuff, no espresso bar, no hard liquor, no kombucha, very little specialty diet items, not much imported cheese or ethnic items, no household furniture (lamps, chairs, side tables, desks, mirrors, etc.), very limited pet section, very few geriatric or medical equipment, no optometrist, no hair salon, no bank.
However, there are these stores in this small town very close to Brookshire Bros that can fill in what's missing (O'Reilly's auto supply, medical supply store & pharmacy, 2 Dollar Generals, a Family Dollar, a nonprofit thrift store (over the tracks on Hwy 356 open until 2 pm), 2 car washes, convenience stores, Higginbotham Bros Hardware & Furniture Store, liquor store, gift shop (on Main Street), pawn shop, 2 Feed Stores, auto mechanics, a Yoga & body works health place, an ATM & bank, a small post office (open til 4:30), and a local hospital w/urgent...
Read moreI’m wanting to leave a review just based off the quality of products. The store is clean the staff is chill no issues with them…but the fresher products… like meat +fruit +veggies its a gamble each time I’ve had to shop here.
Most recently Ive purchased meat Sunday June 22 and I go to start getting ready to cook it today, Tuesday.. so that’s about 48 hours I’ve had this meat…and it’s already turned brown and the smell of it is horrible and rotten…. I did check for any punctures to the package and none are there.
I wish I didn’t have these experiences from this store. I struggle with this review because there have been times with no issues but it’s too often for a grocery store, for me to not mention it at this point…
Like do i just happen to shop at a bad time? Do i need to spend more time searching the stack of meat? Do your products just have different expiration dates than other stores? I do see the sell by date but that doesn’t always mean must be used by, so if that’s the case can labels be updated to be sell/use by? Idk
If yall could just meet the bar on some of these meat and produce items a bit better I and I’m sure others would greatly appreciate it.
I don’t like always having to plan basically road trips to surrounding cities/towns to get groceries due to this inconsistent quality of products
Again yall are very nice and clean isles and stuff …it’s just this is outweighing it sorry if this became too long i just had extra time to write this since i can’t cook...
