For Health Reasons those who can't handle Spicey food..Careful with the Chappell Hill Sausage they can't seem to keep the regular away from the spicy..
I have been going there since they have opened...I have been a regular customer and have bought at least 100 or more Regular Mild Chappell Hill Kolaches from them...I spend at least $5.00 dollars every time I go..
For Health Reasons can't do spicey..
Out of all these times they have mistakenly given me 5 that have been spicy....Not to bad..I have informed them each time..So they could check there inventory and they would replace it with a Regular MIld Chappell Hill...Great good customer service..
Reasons they have was they gave me the wrong marking that was on them. Or cook made a mistake..Always a good reason...and understandable..
I'm not much of a complainer just wanted to inform them so no one would get sick if they asked for a non spicy kolache and bit into a spicy one..
SAD TO SAY TODAY WILL BE MY LAST PURCHASE...I received a Spicy Chappell Hill when asked for a Mild...Clearly there was some type of Green spice in the center of this Sausage not sure what spice it was maybe jalapeño.
When called to inform them the owner was upset and informed me that I am the ONLY customer that has complained...and that she has NEVER ever received COMPLAINTS in regards to the Chappell Hill..but from only me...She apologized but really didn't care in what I had to say..and pretty much cut me off...and told me she would not sell them to me anymore..I only wanted a replacement as all the other times I would take it back to them and they would give me a regular non spicy kolache..Thats good customer service.
But today was different...Which is fine there are other places to buy breakfast..
I have been the nicest informant to them when I call..and a great customer..
But she told me that Chappell Hill does not make non spicy Sausage.. That is where I draw the line Which is NOT a TRUE Statement..Because I have purchased 90% Regular non spicy Kolaches from them.
As I mentioned I have purchased breakfast from them every other day heading to work..Trying to patronize our small businesses..Let's just say I spend a small fortune on breakfast.
Again Sad to say I will have to take my $5.00 purchase elsewhere..
Good Luck Spitfire Wish you all the best...
RESPONSE TO THE OWNER...
You have proven that I was a great customer if you can remember what i ordered.
But yet could not get the order correct..lol....
You are also correct about spending $4.20 cents.
BUT LETS BE HONEST..
IF I didn't have cash in hand I had to meet the $5.00 dollar minimum to pay for my order..Not a problem more money for you..
As I said earlier I try to patronize small businesses.
I would order my food Non spicey (means without a heat additive) or Mild..(means not spicey)
Per your response I didn't say the right word..(Original) lol... so you would give me spicey..
My original posting was to help other customers...So let me continue with that...Lol...
So for anyone that is ordering a Chappell Hill Kolache and you want it to be non spicey you will need to order an ORIGINAL CHAPPELL HILL ...Do not use Mild or non spicey verbiage because they Do Not know the difference...
I'm all about honesty...but to make it in this world you need to...
Read more1st time customer this week. Thought I'd try a different shop since I always drive thru Trinity on my way to work. I generally stop at the 'other' place instead, for my morning kolache, and donut breakfast. While I hesitate to say the donuts were better than the other place, can confirm they hit it on the money with the kolaches, and croissants. I really enjoyed not having my breakfast smashed into a box with everything else I ordered. Spitfire, you are my new breakfast home. I'll give the donuts another chance because they were still good just not great. Could of been the time of day too, maybe I got a few that had been out for a while. Still though, the quality and care in the delivery of the food was leaps and bounds above the 'other' place.
I will agree with others the $5 min for card purchase is petty. Has nothing to do with price of food. It's just simple economic choices. Conveying the cost of running a business onto the consumer. Won't stop me from patronizing this establishment, just wanted to point out it is petty to have a minimum...
Read moreSo many options! And the food was tasty. One of the few places that has my favorite (unfrosted blueberry cake). Only took off a star for a couple little things. When I asked something about the smoothies, I was told in a nonchalant way that they were just powder and milk. Didn't try to talk it up or make it sound good, and I almost didn't even buy it. Not bad but knowing it's something so simple and that the employee didn't even seem very excited about it put a negative association to it though. (I bought another today so it DOES still taste good, at least the mango strawberry one I got.). The other thing was that I asked if the coffee smoothie had caffeine in it (my 8yo wanted one haha) and they just told me they didn't know. That's kinda a big deal, and should be something the employees know for sure. The inside is nice and bright and seems like it would be a good place to sit and have breakfast. I say...
