I was raised in a small town and my father owned a small town store so I always stop at the mom and pop stores to support the town. I love seeing what they have and how they run things compared to mine as a kid and here is what I saw Food: they had avocados that were in great shape! Big deal for a small town Gas: prices were fair Selection: was plenty if not more than plenty and they had a cute little Icecream shop connected to it.
Food prices: marked up beyond belief! But expected in the middle of no where. They have to pay to have it delivered there more than a large town and we had the same issues as a kid at our store. So I donât blame them at all.
I will say however as a kid having a small town store we learned if the prices were going to be extremely high like 120% higher you better have amazing customer service and this is where they fell short. The woman was rude and treated us as an inconvenience rather than welcome. I understand everyone has a bad day but she was pleasant to her friend hanging out just not to her customers and that is why there was three stars. Especially because the commercial store not even a block away was a hell of a lot cheaper and the people were extremely friendly.
Disappointing to say the least, if I was to go back to that town Iâd sadly go to the other one because they seemed to enjoy me...
Read moreGreat market when visiting Bryce Canyon. Tropic is a short drive after hiking Mossy Cave/Water Canyon and on the way to Kodachrome. I shopped there twice, once after Mossy Cave Trail and the second time this morning on my way to Kodachrome Basin. The prices are much better than in Bryce Canyon City. I found the selection to suit my needs and preferences, too. However, depending on who is working will depend on service. I reduced my five star to four because I waited 5 minutes to checkout. When the girl finally returned to her cashier, she didn't even acknowledge a customer was waiting and consider in her absence, how long. A professional "sorry to keep you waiting" would have gone a long way. A gentleman, local probably, got her and her attention was on him. She wasn't by any means rude, I just felt after patiently waiting, rushed out the door. There are times when I will find another place to go or pay higher prices just because of the service. This isn't a store I'd be inclined to...
Read moreI know some people have complained about the high prices, but you have to think that this market is another very rural spot, and they donât have access to as many goods. So being mainly out in the desert, I thought they had a very good selection of produce! I was actually amazed at the produce, and their prices. It was better than what I would expected, and almost equal, if not better to what I would get in my grocery store in a large city. The checkout staff was extremely nice. Her name was Gabby. She did very well engaging and making us feel comfortable during our experience at the market. Other items throughout the grocery store might have been a little bit more expensive but not everything was. It was very clean and had a very nice if heâll do it. I would highly recommend it to any traveler that is visiting...
