Green Lantern Pizza — Local services in Troy

New to area, waited 2 years to try Troy location. Read amazing reviews, so excited to feed a bunch of boys visiting whom I usually make my own amazing pizza for. Sad to report, horrible so I will contact directly w/my experience 😢 Tried to order over app, chose 6pm then app forced me to select 6:15 then 6:30 until it went thru. I called to confirm pick up time since it was 5:30 & app flakiness. Guy answered, I explained app time changes & he said it would be 20 minutes. NOPE!! Son sat, waited over 40 minutes (I only live 9 minutes away). I received text @ 6:20 stating it was going in oven. WHAT??? Exactly why I called to ask what time. We would have waited to go & pick up. My son returned with the pizza that was folded on the upper quarter because it was closed not laying flat in the box & swimming in a pool of grease. He went out later only to find the oil leaked all over his brand new car seat. It also leaked all over my stove top. I literally put napkins down so the oil would get absorbed instead of pooling outside of the box. It was gushing out to the point I couldn't even stop it. The pizza slices were not even all cut all the way through. As soon as my son walked in the door I opened the box to get our guests fed, just tried to get it cut & the pieces out of the pool of oil onto plates for our company. Not what I expected to spend my money on. I do not take any enjoyment typing...

Green Lantern has been my favorite pizza in North Metro Detroit for over 30 years! Their round pies have always been delicious and they added an even better Detroit style deep dish to the menu. I've been going since there was just the original one restaurant in Madison Heights, and it's made me very happy to see them expanding now to numerous locations and carry out and delivery. No matter where I go around northern Metro Detroit there is a Green Lantern close, and I recommend it to everybody. The pizzas, Lantern Bread and salads are top notch, the Italian sub is unique, and all the sandwiches are good. The wings come in a nice variety of flavors. The dough is made fresh daily and most toppings and ingredients are also hand made. They put a lot of real work and effort into making a quality product that I always eat until I'm stuffed. This is a Detroit original, and a must try. You get what you pay for, and you can taste the difference with the high quality cheese, toppings, and other ingredients. I have been a customer of this place for almost a year now and it was been a very good experience. somehow did not like todays experience. Ordered square pizza with 3 toppings using a coupon and $16 came out to around $13 with coupon. then i ordered 8 pc chicken wings as well. the order was placed around 7 pm. reached the place around 7:30 just to find out, wings was never placed in the oven. I did not want to wait. the person at the counter removed the wings cost and i am still waiting to see the charge in my credit card. the pizza was barely room temperature, was not warm enough. I thought if i placed the order at 7 pm and picking up at 7:30, the pizza should still be warm. or may be they just kept it outside after it was done. overall the experience was not very good. i will keep my eyes on my credit card amount....
