Beware of their pricing!!! It's not the advertised price.
I went on their website to decide what I wanted, called ahead, and placed an order. Total came to $75 - when I went in to pick it up, it was $115!! When I questioned the amount, I was told that it was their "old menu" or "other owner". She said, "See our new menu" - I told her that it didn't matter what she had in her hand and that the online price was cheaper, she tried explaining again that it was an "old menu". She then said I should have asked for the price when I called. I refused two of the items on the order to reduce the price. She then asked if I wanted a new menu to take with me, um ... No.
Edit: I did go to their website, called the number on the website, confirmed the physical address, and read off the menu - this was not some 3rd party website I used. The manager confirmed that the website is outdated. So, this"error" was not from going to a 3rd party website.
2nd edit: If I had a fictitious third-party websiteâwith my phone number, name, and menu on itâand people ordered from it (when I questioned the price change, they admitted this), I would ask the phone-in customer rather than losing a sale (I left food behind) and losing a customer. I know that websites can be taken down when they are fraudulent and hurt your business. Again, avoid this business because all you get...
Read moreTried them for the first time today on the recommendation of Kimâs Chinese restaurant owner after they closed their own doors. Hesitant at first I settled on shrimp fried rice, dumplings and sesame chicken. The food was delicious and cooked to my liking. The shrimp fried rice is great with large pieces of shrimp and flavored rice. No peas in the rice in case you were wondering. The dumpling come in both fries and steamed, I tried both versions and tasted great, especially with the little spicy sauce that comes with it. Like a few other reviews itâs one of those places that after eating a plate youâll feel full and disgusted with yourself and then be hungry again at midnight. Tbh, thatâs the way I like my Chinese. The staff was nice and were partaking in social distancing measures. I look forward to trying more off the menu and will start making this a regular staple. Yes the place looks a bit outdated but seriously if your really worried about the aesthetics of a place and not the food, find yourself the frozen food aisle at the grocery store and get your innovasian on. I mean câmon, mâkay? Oh and the fortune cookies were nice and...
Read moreWhen I moved to Troy, I tried just about every Chinese restaurant in search of one as good as what I grew up with. Hong Kong Express ended up being even better than my hometown favorite! The almond boneless chicken is always hot and crispy. The fried rice is the perfect texture and flavor. The lo mein (eapecially roast pork) soooo flavorful. The crab Rangoon is crispy and STUFFED with filling. They don't skimp on their egg drop soup either, always the perfect ratio of broth to eggs. Their egg rolls and spring rolls are generously sized and so flavorful you don't even need the sauce. Everything is great here, but those are my favorites. The portions are HUGE for the price too. For $3] you could feed two very hungry people for days! (I say that from personal experience lol). The people who work there are always so friendly too! I'll be so sad if I ever move again and have to find a spot to even come close to Hong...
