If I could give them less than one star I would. It’s a very convenient location for me, however because I am middle eastern all of the employees seem to have a negative bias. I ignored it the past times that I have been there, but today was by far the worst. The first time one of the rude cashiers refused to accept my coupons that were CLEARLY VALID, he did not even try scanning them. He literally seemed like he wanted to get into a fist fight with me. I made him call the manager and she “tried” scanning them but apparently they “didn’t work”. I over looked it the first time this happened, due to my reasoning being that it was only one idiot cashier. The next few times I went I always noticed their employees hovering over me, and watching me every chance they got. Once when I getting stuff in the aisles, and another when I was just scanning my stuff. They never failed to hover over me and ask me “if I need help”. The last occurance was just today. I use the Kroger App frequently, and I was planning on getting some soap due to it being on sale on the app. There was only one bottle of soap left, I grabbed it and was on my way to the price machine but apparently it was down. I then noticed that service desk was open so I went over there to check the price. The employee told me that it was $4.50 vs. the $1.75 price that it was showing on the app. I showed AND explained to her quite clearly that this is the price that is showing up. Her response: where are you pulling it up on? I told her the kroger app. She then asked if it was a digital coupon. I told her no this is the price that comes up when you search for the product in the app. And she told me that she doesn’t understand. And that “she doesn’t know what to do for me” I told her that it’s the last one I don’t see why you can’t give me the price. I once again showed her and explained to her that it is CLEARLY on the kroger app. She treated me as if I was not speaking English. I do not have an accent and was raised here I don’t understand what she couldn’t understand. She then asked another employee, and she was no help either. They both treated me as if I was insane and looked at me like I was an alien. Needless to say I got infuriated by the way they were handling me, and just left. I have never been treated with such disrespect at any store. I will no longer be shopping at this Kroger that is filled with...
Read moreI encountered some issues when I purchased a $12.99 bottle of Similac water formula at your store around 5:00 PM on November 11. I tried to use a $15 Similac digital coupon for payment, following the instructions provided on my phone to guide the cashier. However, the cashier said they didn’t know how to process it and suggested I go to the front desk for help.
I then waited in line and explained the situation to the staff at the front desk. However, she coldly told me that Kroger does not accept coupons from other companies, and claimed that the cashier’s refusal was justified, as the cashier could lose their job for accepting it. When I tried to explain that this was not just any regular coupon, but a digital payment tool provided by Similac for moms, she simply glanced at my phone, took my formula away, and told me she couldn’t help. Her attitude made me feel as though I was being treated as if I were trying to scam the store. This left me feeling very upset.
As a mother of two, I have used Similac coupons many times at different stores, including other Kroger locations, to purchase formula, and I have never encountered such an arrogant and unreasonable attitude from a cashier before. On November 12, I visited another Kroger in Sterling Heights to buy the same formula. The cashier there briefly looked at my phone, scanned my coupon, and completed the transaction in just a minute. She was an older lady, and although she had never processed this type of coupon before, she was very professional and friendly.
I will no longer shop at the Kroger on Big Beaver in Troy, but I really like the Kroger in Sterling Heights. Although I live in Troy, I will make the trip to Sterling Heights from now on.
I am deeply disappointed by this experience. As a customer, I expect to receive professional and friendly service at Kroger, and this incident has caused me to question the customer service at your store. The Similac digital coupon is an official payment method for specific products, and the instructions are clearly outlined on my phone. I hope your store can improve staff awareness and understanding of these new payment methods and provide the necessary assistance...
Read moreHad a very poor experience today. Two of the three bottle return bins were broken and the third was full. I went to get help, but the machine became full again after they had jiggled the bin a little bit, so I had to go back and ask for help a second time. Ended up spending 45 minutes returning cans.
Then after shopping I went to check out, and the shorty stocky older lady associate with light brown hair and glasses at the self checkout section was so terribly rude. I pressed the call attendant button for my bottle slips and she yells "holllllld on". When she came over she says "um no, we scan these at the end" and I said OK. I went back to scanning my items and she came back 30 seconds later and says "yeeeessss?". I said that I was still scanning my items (which she had to have seen). She points up to the call attendant light and says "well THAT thing is still on, and THATS when I come over to see if there's a problem, so what do you want?" I told her I would still need her help with my bottle slips after I finished scanning, whereupon she scoffs and walks away. I finish scanning my items and when she is walking by I asked if she was ready for me, and she gave another annoyed "hollllld on". A few minutes later she comes back and tells me to straighten out my slips for her and scan them and hit the 'coupons' button. I did so, but there was no 'coupons' button after scanning, so she yells "nooooo, you didn't LISTEN". I just sat there silently in awe at how she was treating me, then I left feeling so upset and irritated.
On another note, I had my car tire slashed in the parking lot at this location several years back. I filed a police report and asked kroger if they could work with the police to see if their cameras picked something up, but unfortunately they said their cameras only watch the store entrance. Ill try to add a photo later.
Sigh.. I feel better having written this all down. Stay safe and...
