We had an early tee time for our foursome. We are not professionals by no means but we try to enjoy ourselves and not slow anyone down. We finished 9 holes in just over 2 hours and the front desk guy who checked us in had the nerve to come up to my cousin and tell him we needed to speed up our play when we stopped at the turn. We were not happy and a two some behind us, although not much pressure, hit our cart twice without yelling 4! Never once asked to play through We continued our round the twosome who had become a single, we asked them to play through and had to wait for them to finish the 11th hole and then the 12th before we could continue play. Rest of the round was uneventful and the course itself was another bad and was good to play. After I was done I decided to discuss the comment with the guy at the front desk. I asked him why he told my cousin we needed to speed up when we finished 18 in a little over 4 hours. This is the part that will make me never go back. He says you played in 4 hours and 9 minutes. I said still I have never been hassled for playing a course in 4 hours. He said you were holding up 4 groups who were waiting for you at 9 and he also asked the group behind us ( the 2) if we were slowing them up. So you're telling me we stop at the turn get food and drinks and get to 10 tee box BEFORE the twosome even comes into the clubhouse for drinks. And we never saw a foursome the whole time we played, wait for us anywhere on the course. Don't tell a bold face lie. Last, my cousing has recently been dealing with a vision problem due to diabetes and we have played golf together for 30 years so he is not the quickest but we finished in 4 hours. Greens roll nice. Little beat up but rolled true. Guy parking the carts is a real hot head. Tried to help him out by bringing the cart down to the garage. Guy lost it because I didn’t put it back 10 feet away where they are supposed to go. “Can you read this sign what does that say carts here” “Sorry first time playing here was just trying to help” “I don’t need your help” what a hothead hope is day got better. I play here in a league on Tuesdays. No issues. But always have issues on Saturdays with the “golf pro” who thinks he’s cool by coming out and telling us to move faster. It’s happened on other occasions. We played 18 in 4 hours. I go out to enjoy the weather and my time with friends. Sorry I’m not as good as him. But it’s getting pretty ridiculous. Maybe he should witness the backlog on the Tuesday golf league where I stand around half the time waiting. Takes 3+...
