We arrived at Mojos before 5:00 on a Saturday evening. They were busy but not what I would call super crowded. I asked to look at a menu before we sat down and told them that I had some dietary restrictions. They assured me that they could accommodate my dietary needs so we had a seat. The waitress came to take our order and the first thing I noticed was that she didn't write anything down. We had three people in our party so I assumed she could remember the details of the order but when our food came out after waiting at least 30 minutes, my food came out incorrectly. I ordered a classic burger but told them I could not have American cheese and ask them to substitute Swiss cheese. I also ordered a side of fries. When I notified the server that my hamburger had come out incorrectly she just smiled and said that they could remake it but that it was going to take a "few minutes". I told her that was fine and went back to the table where the other people in my party were eating their food. They felt horrible to eat in front of me but i kept telling them that I was sure my replacement burger would be there soon. How long could it take to make a replacement burger? I went ahead and ate my fries because they were going to get cold but I was hoping that the burger would be coming out pretty quickly since it was their mistake. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. I waited another half an hour for another hamburger which is just very unacceptable. The other people in my party were all finished eating by the time my new burger came out. When the server brought it to the table my mom mentioned that I better hurry up and check it before the server left to make sure it was correct and the server just laughed like it was a joke. I also would have thought that they would have served me more french fries with the replacement burger since it was their fault and most people like to eat the two together, but they only brought the burger. To wait that long for a simple burger that shouldn't have taken very long to re-cook is just unacceptable. The food was good once I got it but I was not at all happy with the service. It appeared that our server was going between the dining room and the bar and I don't remember her checking back with us to make sure our order was even okay. I had to ask another server for a takeout box since our server wasn't available and also had to ask the other server for our bill. They didn't charge me for my meal which was nice and appreciated but I really would have preferred that they had just corrected my meal quickly and it would have gone a long way if they had provided hot fries with my replacement burger since it took such a long time to get it. That would have been a nice gesture and would have left me a much more satisfied customer. But I doubt we'll be returning to Mojo's. My advice to management at Mojo's would be to make it a priority to correct any order that is your fault and when someone orders a side with their burger, replace that side so that the customer has both items fresh and hot to eat together. It would go a long way in making a happy customer! Also, if there is a problem with an order, it would be good customer service for the manager to come around and check to make sure that the situation has been resolved to the customer's...
Read moreFood is good. No desert menu. As we continued our visit to enjoy drinks and conversation we couldn’t resist our sweet tooth. We had someone cross the street to get a quick desert to bring back over to mojos. Is this disrespectful? At the time it seemed pretty harmless. In hindsight though, I can see that it is. For that I apologize. Does our selected food brought in compete with their menu? No it does not. It is a separate corse meal that is not offered at this “restaurant”. Is there a sign on the door we did not take notice of about bringing in food? Yes there was. Regardless of it being there I’d bet most do not take any notice to this sign. I mean really....who does that? Our waiter approached us and said on behalf of the business owners we are not to bring food in regardless of what it is in to their establishment. I can respect that. However we did pay for a meal. We did not just show up with a bag lunch from Mcdonals and camp out at at mojos to eat it. I spent roughly 51.00 and I left a tip and that was just my bill. Will the 4 people of our party ever return? No, we will not. If you have a sign on your door about bringing in food this is a obviously a problem created by your business practices. You are essentially advertising that your failing to provide your customers with what they want. No coffee or tea in this “restaurant” either. There’s nothing special about these kinds of beverages and let’s face it most if not all restaurants offer an these options along with appetizers, main corse, and desert corse meals. I say with no doubt these things are commonly requested in most restaurants.
Solution: Add these basic essential food and beverage options to your menu and remove your “fail” sign from the door. Having your staff approach customers to “call them out” does not fix the problem. 2 wrongs don’t...
Read moreIf I was just judging the food, I would give Mojos 3 stars. It's good! Not four starts good, but good. I'll be back, but I'm not sure for how long. The service there is awful and it's been awful almost every time we've been there. My wife and I waited about 10 min before we were waited on (we were acknowledged when we walked in though). We waited another 10 min to get our drinks (including our waters) and our main entree was brought out a min or so after our appetizers. The food was fine and we where pleased with it. Our server was nice but was very busy so I don't blame her. I would have to blame the management for under staffing. Mojos has been around long enough to know how many to staff and when. I love and want to support local establishments (we live in Troy) but at some point, you need quality service for your money. I was in the restaurant business for many years so I've been on both sides (once as a waiter and now as a diner).
Mojos, if you're reading, please make some changes! We're...
