I'm going to start by saying that my oldest son came here at least once or twice a month with his friends and always had a great time. That is probably the only positive I can give about this terrible place. My whole family went for a family night with my kindergarten sons school this past Friday. We are a family of 4 and I am very close to having another son, literally just weeks away. As soon as we got there the staff during check in was extremely rude! I'm very good at ignoring negative people but being pregnant I immediately was irritated although I was not about to let it ruin watching my 5 yr old son skate for the very first time, and I didn't. As I walked in it reminded me of when I was little and loved to go to the skate rink, oh about 20 yrs ago, mainly because everything looked very outdated and much older. It was a big floor to skate on for sure but the place looked like it needed alot of love and my oldest son had to return 2 pair of skates because they were both damaged. Anyway, the event was supposed to last until 7:15 but started shutting down and closing up everything around 6:45 and we were leaving around 7pm just because of the amount of messages we heard on the loudspeaker.. we kind of felt as if they were pushing us out. My son wanted to stay for the later skate and so I tried speaking to one of the ladies up front about the process of him staying since I was unsure how to go about it and paying since I only had debit and she was so incredibly rude I ended up eventually just walking away from her. She looked at me as if I was the biggest inconvenience and she just hated her life, she interrupted me 3 times, told me my son would have to wait in line outside and as I tried explaining how I didn't have cash she interrupted me again and then proceeded to yell at the teenagers behind me to get out of their lobby and wait outside until the private event was over, proceeded to look back at me, roll her eyes and say, you can go outside and wait in line with everyone else until we let you back in! I had to walk away. I mean, are you freaking kidding me!? I dont know here name but I wish I did, she was extremely rude, disrespectful and was just a hateful old lady. Its unfortunate that I will never go back nor will I let my son either.. But I will be sure to drive him as well as all his friends to a different location on nights they want to go just so they don't go to this poor excuse of a business. No way will I spend my hard earned money of a place who looks and treats you like dirt! Let me know if you ever get yourself together and get rid of the miserable ladies up front but until then you lost a lot of business from my pack of kids and I highly recommend others to find a different...
Read moreIf there is a button to give this place zero stars I would. Today I had the worst experience there. I went for my little nieces birthday party, and this is what happened. There are two other children besides my daughter with allergies, so we brought some treats for them, three cupcakes and some cookies. They knew that there were children with allergies and we told him that there were three.Anyways, we got our tickets and the lady stamped them and then she saw our bag of treats. She said "can I see what's in your bag?" We showed her what was in the bag, she said "I thought there were only three kids with allergies, but there are cookies and three cupcakes here." So I said "so? The other kids get seconds of cake but we didn't want to buy six cupcakes! so why can't we bring the cookies for our kids? The rude lady said that we couldn't bring more than one dessert per kid. It is ridiculous and the kids never got the cookies, they only got cupcakes! Anyway the next bad thing was that my daughter was skating with her other aunt and cousin (this cousin was also one of the kids with an allergy) when the rude lady came out and said that my sister couldn't be on the floor with shoes on to help her four year old daughter skate. my sister said "I don't want to pay for skates!״ and her daughter couldn't skate with my 10-year-old daughter by herself. Then the lady said "get off the floor now ma'am!" My sister said "you are the rudest person I've ever met!" And then they walked away from that crazy lady. The next thing they knew, the lady came on the floor (with shoes on) and said "I'm not rude you're just not following the rules." She also yelled at my daughter to move. Anyways they kicked my sister and her daughter off the floor so my niece never got to skate again. There were many other problems like more rude staff. This is the worst place I've ever been to and I probably won't ever be...
Read moreI hadn’t went roller skating in over 20 years and wanted to go for my birthday. My friend left her wallet so we were very late getting there. There was 10-15 minutes left. I did not know they have a cut off time. I just wanted to do one song at least! When we get in there (someone let us un so we could but a ticket), the man at the front was nonchalant and rude. Didn’t care it was my birthday, gave us the run around to go find the manager. No one was at the skate rental. We went back to older man, still gave us the run around. Then we get pointed towards the manager. She was the worst. Now, the young lady working as an associate said she would look into and even sent someone to the rental booth, just in case her manager said yes. Again, the manager was the worst. It wasn’t because she said no, it was her lack of empathy and genuine concern. She wouldn’t even look mr in my when she was ‘apologizing.’ Her excuse was an accident on the rink and we wouldn’t ha enough time (how do you tell ME an ADULT how much time I can put on skates lol). The accident was understandable, however , she had staff available and willing to help us. Then she was so adamant about the cashier being closed, wanting her rinky dinky $9. We offered cash. She look straight past me and ‘apologized.’ Crushed my birthday dreams and I told her. She didn’t blink.
I was quite disappointed, moreso by her starch attitude. She needs to retire and let that young lady (I think her name was Leia) lead things. Needless to say but I will for the record, won’t be going back.
I happened to find another rink that was in my timeframe. I couldn’t do a late skate because I have to get up quite early for work (stated this too). I’ll be going back to the rink on Schoolcraft to take some classes and skate at my leisure. Also will never recommend this place to anyone. Simply because of...
