I purchased the Z Fold 5 on August 26, 2023 and purchased the Total protection bundle for this phone. I was given a FREE $150 gift card for making the purchase. I used the phone while on vacation but found that it didn't work for my needs. It was not functional or working the way I needed. I returned the phone in original packaging back to Best Buy on Tuesday, August 29, 2023. I went to the Best Buy at Pinnacle Square in Trussville, Alabama. I brought everything that was needed to get a full refund on the phone including bringing the FREE $150 gift card which was required for the return so that I would not be charged for it. I spent over an hour at Best Buy waiting for this to be cleared up. The assistant manager was not helpful at all and stopped service when he was not able to get out of refunding the gift card. My mother and I were treated hostile and left the store. Now I am stuck paying $150 for a gift card that I didnāt ask for and that was given by the store. I have contacted the Best Buy corporate office to no avail. They have not followed through on anything they said. They have acknowledged I deserved a refund, but I have received nothing. I am extremely disappointed with Best Buy for this type of treatment. I have been with Best Buy for several years with no problem but now I guess customer service doesnāt matter. Even the assistant manager told me he didnāt care about me reporting him. Beware if youāre purchase doesnāt go perfectly because Best Buy will discard you as a customer. You can follow their procedures and still get stuck...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām still paying for a $1,099 laptop I purchased from Best Buy in May 2023 that completely failed due to a hardware issue. I took it in for repairs THREE times, and was finally told the laptop was ātoo outdatedā to fix less than a year after purchase. The store manager confirmed the device was SKUed out in 2023 and that no parts were available.
I was told the in-store manager would follow up with me with a call, but two weeks have gone by, and I never heard from them.
I originally chose this laptop after exchanging two other devices (both defective) in the same month. Iāve now cycled through three laptops, and this ASUS unit marketed as a high-performance gaming machine was the last straw.
Best Buy refunded me the $84.95 diagnostic fee, but thatās where the help ended: no refund, no replacement, and no accountability. The product is unusable, yet Iām still stuck with the debt.
Iāve reached out through every official channel, including store, corporate, and Citibank dispute, with no resolution. For a company that prides itself on tech support and protection, this has been a massive letdown.
Buyer beware: Ask when the device was manufactured, whether itās still supported, and whether parts are still available because they might sell you ānewā tech with no mechanism to fix it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was considering 1 but I'm trying to be objective here. Purchased a 23" Acer monitor on Saturday and picked it up on Sunday. Monday morning I get an email they price dropped same monitor from $159.99 to $99.99. So during the day I tried to call the store. Well you cannot get a hold of anyone at the store and the voice prompts offer no options to do so. However during a recorded message regarding price match it clearly stated that if they drop the price during the return period, you can get the money back. However there was no mention of it being done online bc of me ordering it online and picking it up at the store (out of their already store inventory mind you). So without being told otherwise, I make a special trip to the store to get the refund....oh you have to do it with the triple 8 number. Are you serious??? Well I did call the 888 number and they handled it. My gripe is these stores are really no longer needed except for same day pick-up and that's it. Don't want to handle price match and other minute tasks? No need for a staff. I mean seriously in terms of their pc repair GS... already been several news stories done on these guys and their business...
