I would never recommend this place.
TLDR CONS: The system for using the credits (classes) paid for does not work consistently. Communication is poor. There is no designated customer service - mostly just ignored emails and phone calls. I was charged for another month after confirming my membership was canceled. Students have to share poles. Classes regularly get canceled. PROS: Some of the teachers are good and classes can be fun.
I was told by the owner, Katrina upon sign up that unused credits from the month would roll-over. When I saw that didn't happen, I contacted customer service, which turned out to be Katrina. She said that I would have to ask each month to have them rolled-over. I heard several other girls make comments about their credits getting messed up, so it wasn't just a misunderstanding on my end. There was nothing in the FAQs or anywhere else on the website or app. Katrina said they were updating the app to fix it. However, once the update happened, I couldn't sign up for any classes at all. The app and website said "unable to sign-up online". I am not the only one experiencing this issue. I've tried to get this fixed, but have heard nothing.
I'd requested to cancel my membership, and the end of the billing month was approaching. I again reached out. Over the course of a week and a half, I sent three more emails, but Katrina ignored them all. She finally called and left a message "to work things out", three days before my billing cycle ended. Basically I didn't get to use 9 credits, which equals $111.
Additionally, I was just charged another $99 for the next month even though Katrina confirmed my membership had been canceled. She again isn't responding to me. It took me finally getting a hold of someone else to cancel it, but now I'm distrustful and have to check my bank in a few days to ensure the charge has actually been reversed and that I won't be charged again in the future.
Another problem is having to share a pole. It's unhygienic, and it means that each person doesn't get to use the pole for the entirety of class. This feels like I'm not getting my money's worth. When asked, Katrina just said, "it's policy".
Yet another issue I have is that classes often get canceled on short-notice if not enough people sign up. I'm not sure what the cut-off is, but I know a class where four people had signed up got canceled. That's four people who now have to change their plans. There are (I think) 8 poles in each room. This isn't the biggest deal, especially compared the the other problems. I'm assuming the reason is because Katrina doesn't want to pay the teachers for the hour if it doesn't make fiscal sense. Regardless, it's frustrating. A heads up upon sign-up would've been appreciated, so that I could make backup plans.
I've experienced poor business before, but never to the level of feeling the need to write a bad review.
The positive is that some of the teachers are good and the classes can be fun. I enjoyed about 75% of the ones I attended.
Overall, I'd still advise people to avoid this place. There's other businesses in Tucson that offer pole that can actually...
Read moreAll of Rachel's classes are so fun and beneficial in their own way. Rachel is bubbly with a personality that is gravitational. She is silly and quirky, with the best analogies, and always engaged with her class. If you want to transform into a mystic fairy, take Rachel's flow class. She has taught me how to take advantage of every moment between transitions and to turn every movement into beauty and grace. The flow movements are intricate enough to keep anyone intrigued, yet easy enough to pick up to allow you to add your own flare and sex appeal. Take Rachel's flexy class, and you will realize how even the most micro movents will release tension and alleviate sore muscles. So relaxing and, being a pole enthusiast herself, understands which muscles are directly used in other pole curriculum. She also takes requests from her students at the beginning of class for focus on any desired muscle groups. Take Rachel's open pole class to work on pole moves, dance routines, and collaborate on new moves. I can always count on her to help me figure out a pole move I've been struggling with, or inspiration for moves i never knew existed. She is always so encouraging and will without a doubt hype you up. "yesssss" take any class with big booty Rachel and you won't be...
Read moreI started taking pole classes right when I turned 40, and four years later, I'm still at it. The instructors that I have taken classes from, Sara, Melissa, and Marta, are very skilled, and dedicated to helping you grow as a student, and are very concerned with keeping you engaged when your motivation may lag for the reasons that hit all of us athletes at one time or another. Another great benefit of Pole is how many people I have met and are friends to this day, that I don't think I would have met otherwise, had it not been for pole. Pole is not just a fad, it's a challenging sport that is very rewarding and way more fun than you might imagine. It is a very hard sport, but if you keep at it, the gains are so rewarding and you won't be disappointed!!! Regarding some of the other posts regarding the studio itself, new ownership has redone the floors and are vamping up the place which...
