This TJ Maxx location in Tulsa was a truly bizarre experience. While I'm a loyal TJ Maxx shopper, my recent visit has me considering the Owasso location instead.
First, an older blonde-haired employee complimented a shirt I was trying on. When I excitedly told her I'd just picked it off the rack (and had already informed the dressing room staff I'd be wearing it out to pay for it), her demeanor completely changed. She chastised me, asking, "you know you'll have to pay for that right." It's baffling that she'd assume I was stealing, especially after I openly shared I just picked it up. When I explained the tag was in my cart and I intended to pay, she retorted with a demeaning "good girl."
Then, at checkout, a young dark-haired girl with space buns refused to honor a reasonable price for a damaged, open, and clearly used perfume. I even showed her a TikTok video with the item's correct TJ Maxx price, but she insisted on charging more. Of course, she copped an attitude when I refused to pay extra for a used item. To top it off, she "forgot" to put one of my paid-for items in the bag and feigned ignorance. As I left, the security alarm went off, and she seemed confused, just telling me to go ahead.
Beyond these weird employee interactions, the store itself is the smallest TJ Maxx I've ever visited, with a limited and unorganized inventory. It also appears severely understaffed. I love TJ Maxx, but I'll be avoiding this...
Read moreI bought a set of Ralph Lauren sheets at a very good price but when I got home and unpacked them to get them washed, they were all different patterns and colors, and the tags on a few of them were Better Homes and Gardens. Not even the same as the packaging!! There were holes in them and they smelled like an old person's house. When I took them back to return them, I was told that I cannot return them because they don't match the packaging... Yes! Why would I want Wal-Mart brand sheets in Ralph Lauren packaging?! When I tried to speak with a manager, they just came back with a print out of the return policy. I told the cashier and manager that the sheets had obviously been returned before, they pointed out the red sticker on the packaging, meaning that they have had it in their inventory too long and it needed to be sold. But last time I checked, a sheets manufacturer doesn't proudly package sheets that are rampant with holes and smell like your grandmas house. Someone on the staff very clearly took them as a return and didn't do their due diligence on the item.
I am disgusted that another person would do try to scam another customer like this, but even more so that I couldn't be refunded the money that I was...
Read moreCame in and wanted to look at a perfume. Couldn’t see the price tag so I pressed the button on the side of the locked case for help. The button blinked and said “assistance is on the way” after a few minutes of waiting, a woman with a name tag that said “store manager” walked by. We asked if she was here to unlock it. She looked at us puzzled and said “umm, I guess I can be.” We told her we pressed the button and had been waiting. She then talked to us like idiots and told us how to press the button and unless it says assistance is on the way, we didn’t push it hard enough. We basically said “lady, we know how to press a button and it said assistance was on the way” then she spoke to us like we were children and said “well, I just want to show you how to do it in case you run in to this problem in the future” and then presses the button and accuses my mother in law of cussing at her after she walked away. Like it’s pressing a button, really? From the store manager apparently, it’s pathetic. We know how to push a button. This place is an unorganized mess anyways. Easier to find things and get around at Marshall’s in Tulsa Hills. I recommend going...
