We eat so much Mexican food out, that American diner food has become foreign.

Upon entering we were quickly seated in a comfortable booth. Menus hit the table; drinks were ordered. My wife opened the menu. An expression on her face appeared that was similar to a deer’s blinded by bright car headlights. The diner food menu may as well have been written in Mandrin. No familiar enchiladas, tamales or rellenos. The waiter was sent away, so she could begin her search for a meal. Breakfast food appears to be the crowd favorite here. Large plates stacked with buttered pancakes, waffles and omelets floated by on the server’s arms as I waited. Eventually she spotted a recognizable option, Taco Salad.

I had specifically picked the Silver Skillet Family Diner today in hopes of finding a good salad. Up until now, I have not found any in Tulsa that I would recommend. The chicken salad with crispy fried chicken stood out on the menu. My choice.

Our waiter, most likely a manager/owner was lively, animated and never without a word. He kept the staff stirred and on their toes with his wit. Patrons were not spared from his wise cracks either. Excellent energetic service. The receipt said James.

My salad was absolute perfection. Fresh vegetables, likely house made dressing and an abundant helping of crispy fried chicken breast cut up in nice bite sized portions. My wife’s taco salad was a delicious home style version. Tortilla chips on the bottom of the large bowl, covered with an excellent chili, same fresh vegetables as my salad, grated cheese and avocado slices. The chili here is very good, worthy of a big bowl on its own.

Yeah, I know Silver Skillet Family Diner known for its all-day breakfast menu, but for me, I have found the best salad in Tulsa. Superb service!

I waited an entire week before deciding whether or not to write a review on this restaurant. After very careful consideration I decided that this review is very much needed. First and foremost I must say that the waitstaff was absolutely amazing the way that we were greeted and shown to our seats. However, the “All You Can Eat Catfish” was terrible, either grilled or fried. More importantly right off the top 🗣️THAT WAS NOT CATFISH‼️ I know the difference between Catfish and Swai because that was not Tilapia or Cod. It gets better by the way, the woman that accompanied me to dinner found a hair in her coleslaw. The manager was very, very sincere and comped her meal but not mine. The manager did in fact offered us both a free meal consisting of chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese (which my dinner guest said the mac & cheese tasted like it came from inside of a Kraft box) alongside a slice of cheesecake with cherry drizzle. Still perturbed by the hair in my accompanying guest’s coleslaw I decided to save the chicken fried chicken for later and decided to try their cheesecake. It was awful. It was the worst cheesecake that I ever had and I like.Sara Lee’s frozen cherry cheesecake out the box. So given that unsolicited piece of information you will realize that my standards when it comes to cheesecake is pretty low. Again, the waitress was excellent (in spite of the less than mediocre food and the hair in my accompanying guest’s coleslaw) so I gave her a very generous tip. I still paid the $27.73 for the original meal but the orders of chicken fried chicken for both my accompanying guest and myself made it even. Later that night I tried their chicken fried chicken, it wasn’t good at all but way better than anything else I ate earlier. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone that knows what good food tastes like especially someone that likes a good...

The food is good the service is ok the wait staff (depends on who you get) is ok 1st time in there is had to ""get the attention"" of anyone to get a refill on my drink on more then 1 time that was a fail 1st time I got a Spanish omelet which was good but the huge chunks in the omelet of vegetables were hard as a rock n to big of chunks the vegetables could've been much smaller n should've been cooked softer (not everyone has teeth) 2nd time I got a fish dinner the fish was way over cooked da.n near couldn't eat it at all it was almost black from over cooked hushpuppies were worse they were like trying to eat rocks very hard very over cooked I won't be ordering the omelets or the fish again there simply not prepared correctly

Now as I said I've only been there 2x there's multiple other thing's on the menu I haven't tried yet my waitress the 1st time was super cute but lousy service the 2nd time my waitress not as cute but good service Both were polite n friendly very personable it does seem to be a very young staff but that's ok to AT LEAST THEY'RE TRYING N NOT BEING A HENDERANCE ON SOCIETY

The eatery is clean appealing very presentable I will be back to try other items but so far the best I can do with the food n condition of the food presented to me n the service i received I'll go 3 out of 5 star's

There's some improvement needed in the kitchen in the cooking style

There's improvement needed in the wait staff nobody should ever need to ""hunt down"" anyone to get their drinks refilled ever not in my opinion especially when there were 4 wait staff standing behind a customer watching everything n gossiping over whatever that's ridiculous to me n the place barely had 6 customers in eating...

If you’re looking for a warm, hometown diner experience, look no further than the Silver Skillet! From the moment we walked in, the cozy atmosphere made us feel right at home. My wife especially appreciated the small touches, like the flavored creamers for her coffee. They also offer apple butter and orange marmalade alongside the usual grape and strawberry jams, which was a pleasant surprise. Our server, Rachel, was fantastic—super friendly and attentive, making sure our drinks were always topped off. My wife ordered the Pumpkin Pancake Meal, which came with 2 eggs, 2 bacon, and 2 pumpkin pancakes. I went all in with the Meat Fiesta: 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 ham, 2 pumpkin pancakes, and hash browns. The flavors didn’t disappoint! The sausage and ham were perfectly seasoned, the bacon was thick and crispy, and the eggs were cooked just right. The pumpkin pancakes were packed with flavor, and I loved that they served whipped cream on top—it made a great substitute for butter (though butter is available if you prefer). The best part? Since it was our first time, Rachel surprised us with a massive cinnamon roll—more like a cinnamon roll cake! We were too stuffed from our meal to eat it right away, so we took it to-go for a later treat. The Silver Skillet delivers everything you’d expect from a small-town diner: friendly service, generous portions, delicious food, and all at very reasonable prices. If you’re ever in Tulsa, this place is a must-visit! We’ll definitely be back.

First time here this week. Not at all what I was expecting. This was my order....club sandwich and I chose onion rings instead of the fries that came with it. The club was obviously made with regular sandwich loaf bread which I had never seen used for that in a restaurant. The regular price of the club with fries was 10.99. I had a root beer, guessing price was about 2.50 because I wasn't given a item by item receipt...and I guess the upcharge for the onion rings was about $5.00 which was ridiculous. Total was $19.49. The menu online doesn't have prices for drinks...and the cost of onion rings is not even posted as a side....only as an appetizer. So if they were going to charge the price as an appetizer, waitress should have mentioned it. I so rarely comment on any of these sites. I mean I don't remember the last time. I didn't notice the exact amount I paid until I got home and looked at the debit card receipt and I wondered how in the world did they get that much. Ordinarily I would have asked the waitress but as I said, I was visiting with a friend and was not paying attention. So watch out for upcharges. If in doubt and it's not posted how much something is, ask first, then no surprises. I gave the waitress a $5.00 tip as I didn't figure it was her fault the sandwich was pathetic. She was working very hard. I
