I wrote an accurate but maybe not clear enough review about this place the other day and got a long winded response from them. I may have come off rude, but when someone offers 50 less than spot for a 1/4 Ounce premium 9999 fine gold coin because they have too many, I don't believe that's a valid argument in a market where fractional gold is selling like hot cakes. Fractional gold demands a very hefty premium above spot. This premium is the price consumers pay the bullion dealers so they can make money and be successful. I don't know how Tulsa Gold and Gems is run behind the glass, but if 38 fractional gold coins is so hard for them to move I would put that responsibility on the business management. You can sell on eBay, and even have an online storefront. Reduce the overhead of commercials. Worst case scenario you hold them a little longer than you would like, but in that case we all know what gold does over time. This industry is full of snakes and sharks. Sometimes I agree the market can be rough and a bullion dealer may not be able to offer above or at spot all the time, I don't see that in the market for gold right now, especially for gov mint pure coins. I say that because historically when Gold hits all time highs like this it gets a lot of publicity. People that were not buying gold start to take notice and want to buy. Many start with fractional gold. Anyone who reads this please just call around, get a second, maybe a third opinion. See what your item is selling for on eBay, look at the eBay prices conservatively people are not going to pay the highest price they find on eBay they will pay the lowest price they can find on eBay from a reputable dealer. So that's what I would look for. Once you find the lowest price for your coin sold by a reputable dealer realize that if your selling to a dealer they need to be able to make a profit selling the item at that price or close to it. Profit margins on bullion are not enormous outside of collectible stuff, but the bullion business is there to make a profit. In general neither consumers or dealers can pay less than spot price on a regular basis for investment grade bullion, dealers do get wholesale pricing and ride that line much more than consumers but they get too comfortable there sometimes... understandably. With these things in mind make the right decision for you. I support bullion businesses and don't mind selling to them at a price where they can make a profit but in my experience Tulsa Gold and Gems always pays less than spot, and has lots of experience justifying that to the customers who are losing money in those transactions with them. They will always come up with a reason for not paying a fair price and it's easy to do. I want this industry to be the safe haven it should be in this troubling economy. I hope I am wrong about Tulsa Gold and Gems and my timing has just been bad every time I've checked with them. But for now I would say there are many better places to go both in tulsa, and online. Tulsa gold and gems I've changed my original review and I will check with you in the future. If I see that I was hastey in my judgment and you are not looking for any reason you can find to pay the lowest price you can but are just offering what you think is fair while making a profit I'll delete this and write a good review. I hope for...
Read moreBack in 2012 I came in with my wedding band that was 14K gold on 1 Carat diamond that was my engagement ring my ex-husband bought for $9450 from Helzberg Diamonds in 1992 at the time I was going through a painful divorce, had just had back surgery and the woman working there, can't rem her name, but she was approximately 45-50ish dark shoulder length hair looked at my ri h and tries to tell me there was an inclusion on the diamond that made it not worth $9450 and at the time I had made a call to the buyer’s from Helzberg and had been waiting 2 or 3 data for a call back from them to take it in and resale it back to them. I wasn't working, because of surgery and had tons of doctor bills,, was selling g my home and didn't have (at that particular moment ) the money for a deposit on a new house I was wanting to temporarily lease and I had work being done on mine at the time and could not live there because of a huge water leak. Underneath prt the foundation and garage and the pantry. I knew I needed the money ASAP in order to get this house because another person was interested and it was the only house available and suitable for lease in Bixby in my kids school district. I told her there was no way my diamond had an inclusion ans that she has to be wrong and all she was offer I g me was $1400, not even enough but I needed it. I was upset but at the time. To be completely honest, there weren't very many places reputable to sell jewelry to like this, or like the ring I had, and it was a beautiful engagement ring. I often think back to that day and cringe now when I think of what I endured and the disappointment of hearing what she told me. But I felt stuck, and to be honest she should have did research to see why she felt my stone had an inclusion and she would have found out that Helzberg, known for having a reputation for selling exceptional stones of the highest quality had put their stores inscription on the girdle, or edge of the diamond so it can be identified if needed for future reference. This is what the inclusion she insisted was on the diamond actually was. To this day, I don't know if she knew that and was just trying to deceive me because she knew I was ON THAT PARTICULAR DAY desperate for this deposit money, for which I made the mistake of telling her honestly. I hope now they are aware of this kind of information ahead of time, if she was actually being honest with me and didn't actually know so other people aren't ripped off like me, because if I could do that day all over again, I would’ve never sold my diamond that day because that same night. I got a call from Helzberg and that’s how I found out about the inscription on the girdle and the guy told me if you had called me you may have ended up with several thousand dollars, in fact, he said my Diamond could’ve been worth more than what I had paid for it, depending on what he thought after he had appraised it for me. This man was so kind over the phone and because my husband and I had spent so much money there over the years, he commended us on being great customers. I was sad and regretful for a long time after this, but I didn't know the important details I needed ahead of time going into this shop, and I would never make this kind of mistakeake again. So beware ans be careful and be knowledgeable before you sell...

He also offered me $150 for my gold nuggets that are at least worth $700 spot value. He offered me $25 for a mint straight from the US mint in the box 2021 Morgan Dollar Carson City and a 2021 American eagle straight from the mint 1 ounce silver proof. He said that he is stocked up on all of them and could only offer $25 once again, however when I asked what he was charging $35 for all of the ones he hasn't been able to sale. I said I'll take all of them at $35 a piece. With his face bright red, he stutteringly said that he is out of them. WHAT? I looked on line and the MS70 FIRST DAY, EMERGENCY issue has sold for at least $260. If that is not trying to rip people off, I don't know what is. I knew what I was taking in, so I didn't get screwed, but what about those just trying to sell off gold and silver left to them? The first part of the process made me feel like I was getting interrogated. He asked why I was selling, where I got my stuff, and asked for my ID right from the start. I told him that I have had subscription with the US mint for a long time. He asked what company? I said the US Mint. He said you can't get these from the mint. Calling me a liar. So I pulled my account up on my phone to educate him, only to have him respond "that is just a company calling themselves the US mint, ripping people off". So disappointing! Heard their commercial and thought, finally an honest precious metal and numismatistic dealer. Not so much. I know this was just one experience, but so many things were just way too far off. This is the first time I have ever done a 1 star post, don't wanna have to do another one. I just can't stand when professionals take...
