Ambience: beautiful decor
Food: Tea limeade mix was refreshing and delicious, only a sprig of mint could have elevated it. I give it 4 stars Calamari was delightful, the marinara sauce was a great pairing an additional white peppercorn sauce would have been nice but I give it 4 stars Pizza: I had the 7" w/garlic sauce, goat cheese, basil and pepperoni. My husband has the tony pizza which he did not like. Our food arrived via runner and the basil was missing from mine, the runner offered to take it back, and I suggested that it would be easier to just bring me some basil. My pizza was good, I give it 3.5 stars, my husband was not a garlic sauce fan and gave his 1 star. The waitress checked on us when he was finished eating, and I was about 90% through my food. No time for her to fix anything that could have come up, thankfully the runner took care of things.
Service (claire ) :we walked in and there was no hostess, the waitress then suggested a high table top, I requested a booth and i could literally feel her annoyance bc lucky for us that put us in her section. Yay us :/ Ordering: it was our first visit to Uppercrust and the waitress spoke as if she was bothered that i didn't know the menu. I decided to tell her it was our first time, she then spouted a reluctant "welcome" and began to be at least slightly friendly and explain how the sauces work. Manners: first plate was dirty, no apology from the waitress, she just walked off and got another plate, no " here you go, sorry about yada yada yada as you can tell that rubbed me the wrong way. I did notice the kind service that was given to a group of older white women. My husband and I are an interracial couple ( not sure if that affected the service, due to lack of data). We may be back not sure, the service was...
Read moreCalled at 5:58pm to place an order and was told there was a 30min wait. I arrive around 6:30pm and they are slammed. "No biggie" I think, I've worked food service and have worked many rushes so I'm usually pretty patient when it comes to busy hours and it makes me hopeful that the pizza will be good because they are so popular.
I wait in line to get a curbside parking space for about 15-20min. Finally get a space and call them at 7:05 to tell them that I am here. They tell me that they will have the pizza out as soon as it is done. "Huh... Thought it was only a 30min wait but okay, at least the pizza will be fresh."
7:22 - the gentleman working curbside stops by my car after giving another car their order and asks for my name. I give him the information he asks for and he says that he will go check and see if my order is finished "huh... Thought they would being it out as soon as it was." Gentleman returns with my pizza and hands it to me and I pay, as I grab the pizza box I notice that the bottom of the box is not very warm. Once he goes to get my change I check the temperature of the pizza and it's warm-ish?
I turn on the seat warmer in my car in an attempt to retain at least some of the warmth that the pizza has left. At this point I've been waiting for an hour to get a pizza that I ordered an hour and a half ago. I'm not about to complain and face another potential hour wait. I get my change and head home. Hope the pizza tastes good. Definitely watch out ordering to go during peak rush hours because it seems like communication is scattered with curbside and even if you call you may be waiting a while to get a pizza that was ready...
Read moreDisappointing, ordered a meatball sub for takeout was told it would be 25 minutes arrived with 10 minutes to spare and it was already ready when I got it home it was cold and I only live 10 minutes away. The first thing I noticed was no napkins no Fork the sandwich it was about 7 to 8 in long with four meatballs cut in half hardly any sauce meatballs were dry and without flavor and the bread was stale. The cheese the cheese had gotten hard and had the appearance of melted plastic I doubt it was actual provolone probably some kind of commercial cheese like product mostly consisting of vegetable oil. Oh and I almost forgot the first time I called I got transferred over to the take out desk and hung up on and called back again the place my order that should have been my first clue that this wasn't going to be a good experience. Did they come with a side of pasta salad which wasn't very bad at all. If not for that I would be giving only one star the young lady that took my order on the phone spoke so fast and mumbled her words that I had to repeatedly asked her to slow down and speak clearly. I can't imagine how much of a headache it is these days to be a manager and find competent people that can do the job. Needless to say I will not be returning to dine in or take out. It wasn't long ago but I would have maybe 1 out of 10 unpleasant restaurant experiences but unfortunately now it is more like 6 out of 10 times I leave with regret and buyer's remorse. I feel that we are in the Twilight of the American Experience and we should all feel ashamed for letting apathy and indifference become our...
