I generally avoid writing reviews, as I consider myself an understanding person. However, when delays directly affect my ability to support my family, I believe it’s necessary to speak up.
I recognize that the Department of Health is dealing with staffing shortages, and I truly empathize with the challenges that come with that. That said, licensing delays have a significant impact on people’s livelihoods, and the current pace of processing is far from efficient. What is most concerning is that there appears to be little visible effort to address the shortage such as active job postings which leaves the impression that resolving these delays is not being prioritized.
A more organized approach could help minimize these impacts, even with limited staff. For example, publicly posting estimated processing times and regularly updating applicants on their status would reduce uncertainty. Prioritizing applications based on urgency such as those required for employment could also ensure that individuals who are ready to work can do so without unnecessary delay. Small, transparent changes like these could go a long way toward restoring trust and easing the burden on both the public and the department. This would help staff as well by easing the burden of multiple calls emails and angry people saying horrible things improving their attitude towards applicants calling.
Depending on how this issue is addressed I’d love to write an update review based on how these complaints are...
Read moreI suppose the real issue is: Washingtonians are complaining about a shortage of healthcare providers. If you want to know who to blame.. look no further than the Washington Department of health licensing. They are keeping qualified providers from practicing due to their outrageously inadequate service.
This has been the WORST experience as a healthcare professional and I have worked an ER and ICU during COVID. I would rather do that all over again than deal with the Washington department of health licensing department. We are a military family and transferring licensing from another state to Washington State has been the single-handedly most unpleasant process I have ever encountered. I have been told that my marriage license was commemorative and not official, even though it states at the bottom that it is the true and correct copy as registered by the state of Texas. I was told that even though I have official accreditation in other states that it’s not official in Washington State. We know that.. that’s why we are here. To switch our accreditation to Washington state FROM OTHER STATES. It is a egregious and embarrassing lack of research and effort on behalf of this department and as they are all currently “working from home” it is impossible to reach someone over the phone and email responses are abysmal and not at all timely. I will be filing a formal complaint and showing up in person to get this matter handled. I feel sorry for those who are too...
Read moreThe program that gives a $5 coupon toward your next purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables when you use your EBT card and buy at least $10 of fresh fruits and vegetables is a fantastic program. I've been taking part for more than 3 years. I'm a single guy and I could not afford fresh fruits and vegetables without this program. I can only imagine the benefits that a family would realize.
Between COVID and all of the staffing issues it's caused, Safeway updating their hardware, the increase from $3 to $5 and getting those coupons, and the delays caused by emailing, I had a small glitch for a few months.
Today, I believe that hurdle has been cleared. I spoke with two ladies today that were impeccable in the way they handled my issue. The folks running this program really care about the individuals taking advantage of it and I appreciate them.
They could not have been more professional. And they were caring, open, and received everything I said. They took full ownership of the problem. And corrected it straight away.
I look forward to always being able to afford the fresh fruits and vegetables that I love so much.
Everyday life isn't perfect, but with these folks, I feel that someone is definitely on my...
