First when I scheduled i was given a 90min appointment amd reassured it wouldn't take longer. I still allowed am hour of buffer time for the rest of my day. The appointment got started only about 7min late. I explained what I wanted and I was told I probably wouldn't get platinum like I wanted on my roots to match what I had with lavender in hair. I explained i wanted to keep the color I had I just wanted to bleach my roots. Most of my color got washed out. I understand some of it but the constant use of hot water definitely didn't help. I ended up with the back side of my head bleached in a v shape patch. She tried to dye it to match my natural color and told me it would just need 5 min. At this point I say I need to leave in 30 min making it a 2 hour + hour appointment. The shave is got on my head was patchy. I kept saying so and how I wanted it all over. She said she did a fade. It was just still patchy so I asked again for an all over buzz with a 1 on the sides of head (I don't have much hair, it's just the top of my head). It was still so patchy I had to go back and get it fixed. The color on the back of my head is still patchy. During the wash she just joined another conversation amd then left me at the sink with the toner. Im not sure how long i think i fell asleep. I didn't get what I wanted and the options of tip don't go below 20%. So for $264 I had a mediocre color with low skill level and mediocre service. I also questioned the multiple charges for color ony receipt but she told me it was standard. I'm not thrilled and as a first time customer I do not plan on going back and I will definitely recommend people to avoid. When I was clearly un happy with how it went and even returning to get my hair somewhat fixed there was no real resolution.

Read moreIt can be a gamble looking for a new hairdresser but I’m here to tell you to bet it all on Ally at Lone Star. I just moved here and she was recommended to me by a friend in the area. I got a cut and deep condition. She walked me through the changes my hair was experiencing going from city to well water, she is incredibly knowledgeable and you can tell she loves what she does. And friends, hear me when I tell you, the shampoo head massage alone was worth it but I also got a great cut. I’ve never had a dry cut before but it was very cool and I love the results. I explained to Ally I want to grow my hair out but I’ve had new damage (well water) and she came up with a plan for me.
The salon is a lively open space. The receptionist was exceptionally sweet and I actually met the owner who was very kind as well. If I had any constructive feedback it would only be that the sound in the salon was high. There is very little to absorb the sound, my guess is that’s by design for code/cleanliness reasons but it’s a small issue compared with the feat it is to find a hair dresser I trust with my hair.
Covid info: it was exceptionally clean. I was required to wait in the car until my appointment time and wear a mask. Additionally, they smartly and kindly asked me to wash my hands just before I went to the salon chair. Everything was sanitized, every surface, tools, products, everything. It felt good that the salon and Ally were welcoming but also conscious of being cautious.

The climate is very comfortable but upscale where you feel like you’re treating yourself (which we all need). You can tell the team loves being there and working with each other, which makes it easy to chat with others (girl time is always a good time). If you’re looking for a balance between letting an experienced professional give you recommendations with what your hair needs and providing you options your comfortable with, this place will be SO GOOD TO YOU! I followed a strict hair regimen for 1 year (I have thin fine hair that was fried from so much blonde), and the products/schedule I was recommended transformed my hair to such a healthy texture that made me excited about my hair again. They take learning/teaching to a whole new level with their staff, which is nice to know they have that culture with what is best for clients.
