****************************************** Update: Today I attempted to rent a piece of equipment from this store and was informed as I went to pay that I was required to scan a QR code giving home depot access to my phone location and data in order to rent a large piece of equipment. Having my name, address, phone number and credit card information wasn't enough, I had to fork over access to my cellphone to rent from them. 1. This is an obvious example of invasion of privacy by corporate America. 2. I drove 20 miles there and back with no tool because I don't carry a cellphone anymore. 3. The store manager said they couldn't file a complaint for me I had to call corporate customer service myself. I spent 40 minutes on the phone with customer service to file a complaint. Their calling tree redirects you repeatedly, it's impossible to file a complaint with the corporate customer service without speaking to someone else first. In my case I was eventually sent to home depot online customer care who after 15 minutes directed me to corporate customer care. 4. I was told by the store clerks this was a loss prevention policy enacted by corporate to attempt to locate individuals after an item fails to be returned to the store. So I'm being treated like a criminal expected to forfeit privacy under the premise that others stole equipment. I've spent thousands of dollars in this store in the last 6 months while doing a remodel on my home. Today home depot cost me a day of work, $40 in gas and they've lost my business. No way I'll be wasting anymore of my time and money in a store that has zero respect for me as a customer or for my privacy. If you shop here after reading this, all I can say is you were warned, they don't care about you. Google where's the zero stars button? ****************************************** I have mixed feelings about this store. Number 1. The Tumwater store has different inventory than the store in Olympia. I never know which store will have the item in stock and half the time I end up going to one then the other to get the item I need. Number 2. It's a big box store thats got consumer grade products. Very few items in this entire store are designed to help you do anything but consume more. Very little is available to provide self sufficiency. That said when you need general materials they have the basics to build or repair a home.

DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES FROM THIS STORE! If I could post with zero stars I would. I made the mistake of buying a fridge from here, the store system was really bad and it took the associate a very long time to complete the order. No issues with the associate who helped us because it is not her fault the computer system was horrible. The fridge model we chose required each panel to be added on separately with customizeable colors. When the fridge was delivered, the top two panels were for a different model and did not fit. The delivery crew called in to inform of the error and someone from home depot was supposed to contact us within 24 hours to schedule a delivery for the correct panels. 5 days later and no phone call, we called the store first with zero help. They said we should have called the number on the delivery receipt and couldn't help us. So i called the number on the receipt and again they did not want to help. The person on the line was very rude and informed me that the order was canceled as if i should accept that as resolved, WITHOUT having the panels on the front of my refridgerator. He was confused as to why I was even calling with a problem. The best they could do was tell me to reorder the panels myself. Guess where i will not be making a large purchase at again?

Locals are stuck if they are working on large home improvements. One register was open and it had a large line. We had 2 5 gallon buckets of paint + other items. So, we went to the empty self check out. When we walked up to the registers there were 3 female workers chit chating, leaning on counters just chating and laughing. When I asked if someone could help us this girl mumbled something under her breath and reluctantly assisted us. The other 2 girls dispersed. This girl continued to mumble under her breath. I said to her, "excuse me do you have a problem helping us?" she said, in a snarky response "well this is self check out"! I did not see that she had a name badge. So, I took a picture. She snapped in to being nice and helpful to the person behind us!! This particular home depot needs more customer service training. Sometimes we will drive the extra miles to Tumwater just for better customer service.

I will NEVER buy anything that is not on the shelf from Home Depot EVER Again. The crappiest customer service EVER. I got a call the morning of delivery saying there is a dent and because she found a dent they have to reschedule the delivery of the same item! This was after I already had to cancel my doctor appointment(s) and other daily scheduled life matters… because Home Depot emailed at 4 pm (less than 24 hour notice) with a HUGE window for delivery FROM 3 AM TO 2:59 AM THE NEXT DAY!

On the call about dent She ensured that if I accept the delivery I can call Home Depot (gave me a number) and ask for new appliance or I will receive a nice discount because of the damage, but I have to make that decision only while the crew is at my house making the delivery. So I thought: what do I have to lose? I am given a chance to check it out, either I get a discount or get a new appliance. I was told I can get a replacement in 7 business days if I wanted a new one. So, even though rescheduling for a new day to receive delivery after cancelling all my life for that day sucked, I agreed to see the appliance in person and decide whether I’ll take the discount or rejected and return it for a new appliance. Once they finally got here the damage was HUGE, MUCH bigger than what I was explained OR SHOWN in photos. At this point I am actually concerned if it is dysfunctional but I have to take all the tapes out and install to test it but the crew won’t stay for that… I called the number to see what kind of discount I would have. Welp I had to wait 10 minutes for an agent on the phone. Then I was told The delivery crew were not allowed to wait for me while I am put on the waiting list! Home Depot said I have to remain online to talk to an agent but they wanted to leave immediately. so I was not given any option for discount because the delivery crew did not handle money anyway. ALSO Now I was told if I decide to return the appliance, they have no idea when I will get the next one. It could be as late as 45 days because she couldn’t see where she could locate an available one nearby until I rejected the item and the 7 day promise was bogus! The only reason I ordered from Home Depot was because I am in desperate need to replace the stove! If I wanted to wait 45 days I would order somewhere else! What pushed me over the edge was that the delivery crew told me Home Depot does this ALL THE TIME to get away with damaged product. At this price point if you think I will spend another dime during my home remodel on Home Depot you are SOooooo...

We were shopping for appliances, waited over half an hour for assistance with an item that had no pricing information (it was some sort of returned appliance that was with other tagged clearance appliances). We asked a passing sales associate for assistance who quoted a price and then quickly brushed off to another sales associate. It took this guy nearly an hour to track down the appliance item number and generate an invoice with the sales price over-ridden by a manager. The first insult was while looking for the model number and having difficulty reading the label, the associate used his cell phone to take a picture that could be enlarged to see the data on the label more clearly, mentioning that he was not like us "Kids" who are always using tech devices (we are both around the age of 50, myself a proud U.S. Army Veteran). Then while waiting( another 40 minutes now) to complete the sale, I went to the front of the store for a cart as this was a ''No Delivery Available' and "as-is" item. I returned to the sales area with the cart and parked it next to the appliance. After another few minutes of waiting the associate preparing my invoice for this purchase looked up and saw me and my partner standing next to the appliance and cart and yelled across the sales floor "Sir! You need to pay for that first!". I explained that I hadn't even loaded the item, was not leaving the sales area with the appliance and had been waiting 40 minutes to complete the transaction. So I asked why he was accusing me of attempting to steal the appliance. He again said it needed to be paid for first. I answered him by stating I've been waiting a long time and for him to return to his process of completing the sales invoice. He then told me he needed a payment only. I patiently waited a long time to make that purchase and certainly did not appreciate the open verbal accusation of attempting shoplifting of a major appliance. Both sales associates need retrained on customer service skills. So despite finding a decent deal on a returned appliance, I have a sour taste that remains from this experience. I doubt...
