I was referred to this place because they beat anyone's prices supposedly. They sounded shady over the phone. I called to get pricing, they said that it varied depending on condition. My item was a glock 19 gen 4, never been fired, 4weeks old. Based on that information the appraiser said he could not give any figures and avoided it all to together, old school sales tactics at work. Got prices from MULTIPLE places and still went in to give these guys a shot. They attempted to say that my holsters and mag pouches were worthless to them although they wanted them. Gave me a low ball price of $300 at which that point I stepped aside politely for other customers to be helped while I contacted my husband to make sure he was okay with that ( a 20second phone call). When then I accepted it they took off $100 going back on there word in less than 60 seconds. Turns out I went to another pawn and got $175 more than there offer and the holsters made ALL the difference. If I could but zero stars or even negative stars I would. They tried to take advantage of my gender and they were lower on there appraisal by over $100 to EVERY SINGLE place that I have been and were rude to add. The difference between this organization verses the others was not just a money factor, but in absolute disrespectful attempt to rip off a woman. I recommend any pawn shop other than this place. I lost power for 8hrs over the weekend and I rely upon it to run my oxygen. I tried calling cash exchange, they wouldn't even hold a generator for 40 minutes for me. I walked in the door explained my situation ready to buy what ever he had. Two minutes later this Angel of a man says "you take this on loan and bring it back when the power comes back on. I was so overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity of this amazing man who didn't think twice about it that my friend and I both through our arms around him in tears of joy and gratitude for the kindness and generosity of this amazing man who was more concerned with helping a neighbor in need than increasing his cash flow. I am a woman and The Tumwater Pawnshop has never taken advantage of me or any other women when I was in store. In fact I see them go above and beyond to help people even if the owner has to dip into his own pockets to make it happen. And how many businesses will advise you to go to their rival shop. But Tumwater pawn does they will let you know if they don’t take something why they don’t take it and who will. They will also let you know of another one that would offer more money. I like that they care and don’t want people to lose the item they pawned.
