My husband and I went to Ziggy’s table at the Turlock Comic Con today. My husband inquired abut a game and the Ziggy’s employee we worked with assured us that the game was legit. He said his boss put it in the “real” box (as opposed to the repro box). He said as long as the sticker on the back was intact that we could return it. After we purchased the game, my husband texted a picture of the game to some video game groups and the members all responded with a resounding consensus that the game was a repro. We went back to Ziggy’s table to get our money back and the same employee we worked with to buy the game was very shady and took the game and buried in the box so that no other potential customers would be able to identify which game we were returning. As he was handing us the money back for our refund, my husband said something along the lines of “Since you scammed me on the game, I wonder if this money is fake too.” The employee realized we fully comprehended the scam they currently engage in and became rude and hostile towards us. The employee said, “If you are going to be rude about it, I’ll have you thrown out of here.” The employee threatened us after he scammed us. There was a female with the male employee who witnessed this entire interaction. Turlock Comic Con reached out to my husband and they are fully aware of this situation. We appreciate the organizers being proactive and acknowledging this experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Comic Con. We purchased from several other vendors and are very pleased with their products. As an avid video gamer, this experience was very disheartening for my husband. We would not recommend shopping at Ziggy’s. While we did not meet the owner, Ziggy, we did interact with the staff that Ziggy hires and hope this employee is not reflective and representative of all the...
Read moreThe owner is very nice and seems like he's always up for a chat. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place for business though. Right when you enter you see counterfeit/bootleg Pokemon games. They carry bootleg copies of Pokemon Crystal (legitimate copies easily sell for over $100) and also have counterfeit N64 games (Conkers Bad Fur Day for example). Now I don't want to assume the worst, but by offering counterfeit games for sale they either don't care about the customer or are completely unaware that they purchased counterfeit games. I would rather shop somewhere that I can trust with legitimate copies of rare and expensive titles. The games that are legitimate are marked up around 50% of what they actually go for. I did not try bargaining or negotiating because I assumed we wouldn't even find a price that would work for both of us. If you go, check Ebay or PriceCharting before you buy so you know you're getting a good deal. Not everything "old" is expensive. Also, candles were lit in the store and open flames were accessible to customers. This itself isn't that bad, but the store is so cluttered and packed (think of the show Hoarders) it's a fire waiting to happen. God forbid that happens though. Tl;dr: Very kind people but high prices and counterfeit games....
Read moreAfter checking the reviews to a shop I would always recommend to friends, I'm pretty depressed that I would do that always based off one interaction when I was little.
Aside from that, it seems the common complaint here is attitude. Oh boy...isn't that the truth, Like I just Learned.
If you want to know the context on this, I just asked him if he'd want to trade a PS Vita Cable for a Joy Con Pro Dock.
He said he'll pass. Nothing wrong with that, I'll probably grab a cable in a few weeks from his then.
Then a few hours later this happened -
As if buying stuff and fixing them up is a bad thing...? Plus they make good gifts for family, like a Birthday Deal I gave for a kid, tossing him a 360 Slim for 60 with a bunch of Games.
I actually dropped it from the 100 I wanted to begin with to almost half.
Kinda depressed that I was reccomending this place for years based off of...
