One star because I like the sales person
I’ve had these products installed in my brand-new home for about 8 months now, and let me tell you, it’s been nothing short of a nightmare. At first, things looked promising. My salesperson was sweet, and I liked the flexible payment option. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended.
Let’s start with the sound system. Or should I say “the glorified paperweight”? It’s never worked right from day one. We’ve had multiple techs come out, and every time we want to use it, we basically have to perform a ritual sacrifice and follow a 7-step troubleshooting routine just to maybe hear something.
Then there’s the doorbell camera, oh wait, was the doorbell camera. It never worked. Not once. I lost count of how many techs came out only to leave scratching their heads. Eventually, I gave up and bought a Ring like I should’ve in the first place.
Security cameras? Same story. Worked great until they didn’t. One outdoor camera in particular liked to play hide and seek with the signal, especially during the one time I actually needed it. I reported the issue, got a “we’ll get someone out there” from the sales rep (who, again, was lovely), and then… crickets. I had to follow up again just to get a tech scheduled for the following week. Because you know, who needs working security cameras when weird stuff’s happening around your house, right?
Oh, and don’t even get me started on the apps. Every single device requires its own app. So instead of a smart home, I have a cluttered phone and a bunch of dumb devices pretending to be useful. What a treat.
In hindsight, I should’ve just gone all-in on Ring. Reliable, simple, and it actually works. Save yourself the stress, the endless tech visits, and the pile of useless apps, do not waste your time or money on this company’s products.
I tried. I was patient. I gave them every opportunity. And now I’m just...
Read moreWhen I moved here in 2018, I interviewed a few alarm companies, including one out of Utah, while waiting for my home to be built. MVA was the one I chose for many reasons. It is local and owner operated and he was extremely knowledgeable and personable. Also, even though an owner, Chris works on projects, along side his employees. But there really is something to be said for the personal touch. Especially during office hours, when you call a person in the office, not a recording answers. This company is about customer service and satisfaction
I have had other systems in other homes and to date this has been the best. Not only because of the quality and knowledge of the employees but their loyalty to the customers and their employer, which stands to this day.
The owner, is very knowledgeable and was patient throughout my decision making process, at the time, for which I was grateful. The service response was, and is, excellent in this day and age, of service gone by the wayside. His employees are dedicated to the company and take pride in their work Sorry this review is late coming but nonetheless...
Read moreIf building a home, go with another company for the low voltage wiring! These guys nickel and dime you on tons of hidden things they don’t tell you about. Make sure you’re very upfront with them about the work they do and the cost to do it - and document it. We just built a home and there were so many things that they said they do, for example: they said they wire all the rooms for internet and route the wires to a central location. Ok, so they do that, but if you want them to terminate the wires so you can actually plug something in, then that’s another service charge and a very expensive fee. They run a smurf tube behind your wall so you can hide wires, oh but if you actually want to use the tube you have to get in your crawl space and fish the wires through cause they intentionally leave a gap rather than simply having one continuous tube. Go figure! There’s another service call and service...
