Dulles Toll Road — Local services in Tysons

Possibly one of the worst toll roads in the United States. Outdated, horrible customer service, high toll costs, outrageous additional fees if one of their toll readers can’t read your EZ Pass!

Got into a situation where do to an equipment malfunction on their side it failed to read my EZ Pass. Didn’t know this since on that day I went back and forth through the toll and at no point did it say this (turned green and said paid) However, for some reason still got a bill in the mail for an unpaid toll ($35.00 higher then the toll).

I tried calling them on three separate occasions and no one ever answered, just got a FULL voicemail box so I couldn’t leave a message. Emailed them three times to which I received a response on the third email, but never a follow up after I responded back to them. Then finally after a few months of trying to get a hold of someone, I was sent a letter from a collection agency.

Little to say I’m done using the this toll road and I highly suggest everyone else quit using it too. The less people who use it the more this company, who was suppose to disappear years ago but somehow is still running, will struggle and eventually go out of business.

unfortunately all the recordings talk about is passes memberships check status of a bill,

that sort of thing. So I rate it poor.

Why is it that no matter how many web-sites you click on that say things like

What's the cost for Dulles Access Road or What is the fee for the Dulles Toll- 95,000

people asked You click and are taken to similar sites and questions, never to be answered?

The road itself is okay, although it has been awhile since I used it. But they should publicize their

rates, and say if there are cash only lanes, if it is paid in both directions unlike the Chesapeake

Bay Bridge, etc. I can find nothing. ...

Would rate it 0 stars if I could. I used to take the Dulles Toll Road once a month when I had to go to Northern Virginia for work, I didn’t have too much of an issue paying 5.10 during peak hours but I was shocked when I took the toll road today coming home from vacation, I was charged 7.25 at noon which I wouldn’t think would be “peak hours”. Peak hours should be morning rush hour and evening rush hour not noon on a Thursday. People need to stop using this road, it’s absurd what they charge drivers to drive on this speed trap. There are always state troopers sitting on the toll road, not only do some pay the tolls they also pay hefty fines for speeding. Good luck.
