The first time I went into our local Ollie's store, I have to admit I was underwhelmed. Then, when I tried to sign up for their rewards program at home, I wasn't able to sync the card I had received at the store with the app I had downloaded on my phone.
Since this location just opened when I visited, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went on a return visit.
I'm glad I did. Once I started browsing the store, I found a variety of items I use frequently at an affordable price.
To illustrate a little more, I found a really nice 16x20 frame for $5. The store offers scented candles at a variety of prices, ranging from as low as $2.99 to $9.99 for Yankee Candle-branded items. I found Command Strips for $1.49.
And, if you are looking for affordable books, they have a considerable area of the store dedicated to a wide variety of books for just about every age group.
Oh, when I went to check out the second time I visited the store, the woman at the register asked if I had signed up for their rewards program yet. When I told her I had issues trying to do it on my own, she took it upon herself to get me signed up in seconds. Plus, once I signed up, I had a 15% off coupon ready and waiting to use. I've already used that coupon, and now I have another one available to use as well.
Ollie's is the place where you might find a ton of things you need one time you go, and the next time, you leave without buying anything. It's hit or miss, but it's definitely worth the time to check out and I happy we have a...
Read moreI don't have anything negative to say about the Ollie's in Union City, Tn. I have been there quite a few times. Employees are friendly enough and stay busy. I purchased a 5x7 rug recently that was already more than fairly reduced, using a 30% off coupon, felt almost like I had stole it. I've received 10% and 15% coupons off entire purchases. All the prices are below their original store retail price. I've purchased curtains, home decor, outdoor and yard products, quilt, lots of wee wee pads for my little dog, dog clothes, Honey Can Do metal bakers rack stand, planter pots, various snacks such as Oreo cookies, cobbler mixes, various can food, health/medical supplies, remnant rugs, and lots of other stuff. I truly enjoy going to Ollie's and I have saved a ton of money. Plus, I find it a lot of fun shopping there because they are frequently getting in more items. I never know what I will find. In regards to the building and floors, I don't have an issue with it because I am not buying the building or floors. The building was a BigLots store and Ollie's move in after BigLots went out of business. Believe it or not, I'm rather hard on my reviews. In regards to returns, YES, they do...
Read moreThe store itself was pretty average. I think other locations I've been to have more product than this one. Some of their stuff was a little overpriced for what it was, but some stuff was a decent deal. I gave a lower review though because of the awful cashier I had. He was extremely rude and annoying. He kept trying to heavily push signing up for their rewards program. I told him no 3-4 times and each time he kept trying to sell me on it saying I would regret it and how much money I'd be losing if I didn't. I told him I rarely even go to Ollies, so I'm not missing out on much but he was so persistent to the point I felt like I had to get a little bit of an angry tone in my voice so he would just let me check out and leave. He was so incredibly set on trying to get me to sign up he totally forgot to bag half my products and when I got home I realized I was charged for it all but my products were missing in the bag. When someone says no, move on and check them out so they...
