Randy's Dresher Farm Market — Local services in Upper Dublin Township

Update: Because of the kind response, we gave Randy's another chance this year ('24). My husband and son got the tree from Randy's today. They went to take some greens but were only allowed to take a few - not enough to make cemetery blankets for my parents, something I want to continue to do for them. My husband even offered to pay. Nope. Would it really have hurt Randy's that much to give enough of the cut off pieces - or even sell them?! I realize Randy's makes the blankets too, but c'mon. So much for the Christmas spirit. Just went from 2 start to 1.

We have gotten our trees from Randy for years and years, but not this year. I make cemetery blankets for my parents and have made them since 2005. The cut-off, discarded greens have always been free. Last year (2023) Randy wanted to charge me for the pieces that were discarded and laying in a pile - after we just spent a fortune on a tree. In fact, we were overcharged for the tree that we selected by $10, but I didn't complain. We just paid it. When going inside to pay, the smell of smoke knocks your socks off. It makes for a very un-Christmas-feeling experience. The two stars are for the friendly staff that actually help...

It was the tomatoes. Really, the tomatoes. Somewhere on Twitter someone had posted a photograph of a tomato sandwich, one huge slice of tomato covering the bread, a thin layer of mayonnaise on each slice, a little salt, a little pepper. I saw these Lancaster tomatoes and knew they had to come home with me. We had a sandwich for dinner, but it wasn't enough, and late at night I cut a paper-thin slice of tomato just to have some more. Great tomatoes.

The owner seems to know his business, and we're looking forward to dealing with him more in the future, especially in tomato season. Oh yes, we brought home a couple of peaches, ripe peaches, "we don't have to wait for them" peaches. One of them served...

I only recently found out about the market, though I am sure I have driven by it many times. They have a wonderful online ordering system with a rotating list of fantastic local products from meats, cheeses, baked goods, fruit and vegetables. It is also a great place for plants! It is very easy to order and to get a pick up time where they will bring it right to your car!...
