As a current student enrolled at this establishment, I can't help but feel the school is more in it for the money than they are for your career path. Six of my complaints are: It seems many instructors simply don't give a damn about you or your career path and leave you in the dark, they don't play a role in your education here and some seem almost condescending or very biased of some students in my experience (the ones that really do care are fewer in number but are absolutely incredible instructors). The 'Core' Automotive Classes don't really cover the topics fully, you feel almost forced to be enrolled in an MSAT at the end of the day because they teach you more in depth about certain things, such as electronics, something I was completely baffled by until I started the FACT program. Rules have changed without student notice (such as leaves of absence restrictions, so I've experienced). I think the tour of the school is one big up sell, they preached to me how I would learn on the newest cars, using the newest tools and tech, and that 80% of the work you do is HANDS ON. None of that was true to me. Newest things taught to you are in the MSAT programs. I hear many poor things about the CHS program (Collegiate Housing), they move you around a lot, you pay the same price for an apartment in poorer areas and others do in nicer areas, and such (thing's fellow students have told me after I considered the CHS program). It feels the school is against you sometimes. For example, I had to take a leave due to severe financial troubles I was facing, I went to student services and told them I have to take the leave (the rule before this was that you are allowed two leave of absences a year, I had taken one a few months before hand), they said I'd have to 'time out' of the course I was entering and pay a retake fee of $1,350 dollars if the retake fee waver was denied. With no choice I had to take that gamble, the fee waver was denied and I'm now being charging me $1,350 for a class I never step foot in, though I was in a financial pickle. Now, not everything I have to say about this school is bad, but it certainly has its flaws that really need to be addressed internally and noticed by possible future students. Just consider your options, and good luck in your...
Read moreFormer UTI student here, graduated school in 2012, now it is 2018 and I regret everyday that I went there. They don't teach future mechanics what real life is all about. First thing first, you will get yourself into a debt that you'll be paying off for the next 10 years. Secondly this ""University"" will keep as many people in the dark as possible from letting them know, that once you graduate you are on your own. What you learned won't help you AT ALL in real life. Most jobs don't care AT ALL that you went to UTI school, all they care about is experience which you'll got NONE, 0, nada from that school. That is why I'm regretting going there even to this very day. Instead borrowing 40K and learning nothing for 1 year, I could of worked at some moms and paps shop and gotten myself an experience that would of propelled me a lot higher and quicker into getting a job that I wanted to do. Even though I finished Nissan/Infiniti school after a year of regular UTI school, my dealership still had to send me to nissan school to get all my certificates, which begs the question what is the point of sending kids to "Higher education" Nissan/Infiniti, Toyota, BMW etc.. if dealerships still have to send you to a school that represents their brand. In conclusion, kids DO NOT become mechanics, DO NOT go to UTI school. If you are going to get a job at a dealership, you'll be doing recalls, oil change and tire rotations and warranty jobs a.k.a. free jobs all day long literally. This job will kill your body, it will destroy your soul and you'll be broke for the most of your life, because you constantly need to by tools (expensive) you constantly need to take ASE's to keep your job (expensive) you have to constantly pay off your debt ( which is A LOT ) and all that for miserable 30K to 40K??? For the Love of God guys and gals, stay away from this dying, cheating, stealing, body breaking and soul destroying field. Other than that Good Luck, because you REALLY...
Read moreGraduate 10/2024 SOC in electrical hybrid...I used my post 9/11GI benefits to attend. While attending I received grants more specifically a $1200 grant. I didn't receive that grant until a week before graduation, cool right? Money in my pocket...nope. I get a call from Financial Aid after graduation saying that I owe the institution $1200 because they applied it to my already 100% covered tuition. I was told the VA consumed it which they didn't the school tried to consume it. The office staff specifically financial aid messed up and somehow reported to Nelnet that I owe them money even though I used my GI Bill benefits and had a 100% free ride somehow I owe UTI $1200. As of right now Nelnet says whatever was reported from UTI to them via financial aid office here at the Exton campus they manipulated it in a way I now owe...so today I get an email from the US Dept of education today stating my loan is delinquent.
Veterans, 100% the schools solid, instructors are great them alone is a 5 star but the office staff... especially financial aid...they don't know what their doing. It's in the details. They'll stress get grants and reduce your tuition and all this, I'm telling veterans especially with all the stress and back n fourth with the blame game with financial aid the spam mail and phone calls it hasn't been worth the stress..over $1200 they messed up on somewhere on their end and for that stress and what it's been worth...stay clear. They can't even remedy a simple situation like this ladies and gentlemen....stay clear. This for profit institution is the victim and I was out to scam them $1200 the whole time for a grant I applied for and earned in addition to my free tuition I earned by serving my country honorably, I wasted a whole year of my life to get my diesel diploma to get one over on UTI at Exton...
