Shawarma Joint — Restaurant in Urbana

Got take out on a Saturday night. There was no line, service was quick and friendly. The food all looked fresh and delicious. I got a gyro bowl on rice, a small hummus, and fries. The bowl was HUGE; I think it will last me three meals. The hummus was so smooth, creamy, and delicious. The garnish on top (sumac, chickpeas, parsley, and EVOO) was a great touch. The fries were crisp and hot with just the right amount of salt/seasoning. The fries are also perfectly packaged for a to go order in a paper bag so they don’t get soggy with condensation. I was also given 2 falafels to try; I noticed them hand making each one while I waited so I was excited to try them- they were crisp on the outside and light on the inside, not mushy or bland at all. Our family had a truly delightful dining experience at this restaurant. The vegetarian options were not only delicious but also offered in incredibly generous portions – excellent value for money! The food is delicious, this is our favorite spot to pick up a fast casual meal in Urbana! There are great options for meat eaters and vegans and everyone in-between. We love getting their vegetarian platter and splitting it, it's plenty for two; but we've recently discovered their custom rice bowls where you get to pick you protein, sauce, and five toppings and that's become our new love when we're more in the mood for hot food. We love everything we've had here, but a special shout out for their babaganoush and red cabbage salad because I have to make them a part of my order every time, I can't resist them!

This is a fast-casual restaurant and the interior reflects that, but it's particularly attractive and welcoming for this format and always very clean. We recommend this spot...
