I'd rate it zero stars if I could. If I could rate the store workers separately from the pharmacy I'd give this location 5 stars because they're super friendly and outgoing. The Pharmacy staff on the other hand do not effectively do their jobs and is the more critical function of the store for me. One of my prescriptions is a Schedule 2 drug and by federal law I have to wait exactly a month between refills and they only give me a month's worth of doses. This means if there is an issue on the day I refill I'm screwed. This past weekend I showed up at 10:30 am to get my refills. they told me to come back in half an hour which is normal and fine. I came back and they still did not have my medication filled. Ok, fine, it happens sometimes. I came back at 5 pm, 6 HOURS LATER!!! they tell me "oh we're out of your medication." and then what's worse is they tell me to try to go to another walgreens and the one-they-send-me-to's pharmacy is closed and the other one they reccomended's pharmacy is closed. Then I call a 4th walgreens before they close only to be told that they can't even refill my medication because my psychiatrist would need to be the one to transfer it. This was on Saturday and I am out of doses and have been for 2 days now?!?! Like if I was told or called earlier and told "sorry we're out of your medication" maybe I could've dealt with this earlier in the day.
Also, they always forget these one of my two medications. Like they see one of them every time but never see the second one until I tell them to look again and then they see it.
I've been to other walgreens and never had this bad of an experience with the pharmacy. and even when there's a shortage the pharmacists are super helpful with directing me to another pharmacy that has my medication in a timely fashion.
If I was a diabetic, this poor performance would be life threatening. Thankfully I am not but I can only imagine the horror for those who are, or others with life threatening conditions they need...
Read moreEDIT: It is now 4:36 and my partner is STILL on hold and has been on hold for 1 hour and 38 mins
EDIT#2: Was told my prescription cant be filled "because of insurance". Called my insurance and was told its something the pharmacy has to input and that they would reach out to them for me. Now they have MY INSURANCE on their bs hold queue nonsense. How can we fill prescriptions when this pharmacy REFUSES communication with both patients AND insurance companies?
.
This screenshot was taken approximately 3 minutes before i was hung up on by the Walgreens at 302 E University Ave, in Urbana Illinois. I had my partner call separately from their cellphone (to remain on hold as well) to confirm what I suspected and it was proved true.
The staff at this location often refuses to answer phone calls and instead waits for callers to drop their call (due to the long hold) OR hangs up when someone remains on hold for too long (I'm assuming to maintain the appearance that calls are being taken)
I have also had experiences where despite being the first car in line at the drive through I was not helped until 45 minutes later while MANY people inside were being helped.
It is an ADA accessibility issue that neither the drive through nor phone options are reliable. This being a recurring issue is not okay and ESPECIALLY when this establishment is responsible for our MEDICATIONS and cant even bring themselves to fill...
Read moreLong wait times, delayed prescriptions for absolutely no reason, and completely indifferent techs in the pharmacy. My doctor called in a prescription on Friday evening. I got a text asking if I wanted it to be filled. (Umm, of course I do) I replied, YES. I purposely waited until Monday to even check the app for the progress, since it was called in later in the day. First time I checked the app, status is "In Progress". To keep it as short as possible, this went on for 3 more days. It's now Wednesday of the following week and it still says, "In Progress". I spent 33 minutes on the phone trying to reach a human for an explanation. Never picked up. I called back a few minutes later and got the same result. My husband tried to call during his 30 minute drive and they never answered. I went there at 2pm today, Wednesday, and they still hadn't filled it. I had to wait while a woman sat watching some cheesey video on FULL VOLUME in the waiting area. No one asked her to turn it down and it was SUPER ANNOYING and distracting. I finally got my basic, generic prescription and left at 2:40pm. As soon as I got home I called another pharmacy and requested our prescriptions be transferred. The guy kind of laughed and said, "I hope you're not in a hurry to get these because they aren't going to answer the phone, I'll have to leave a message." THIS... this is why we jumped ship. Everyone knows this store is...
