Jen and Colleen took on a rush order they couldn’t handle, so when they realized their mistake after I did them the favor of reminding them of it, they drop shipped me a ring out of Florida. No warranty included.
I was unhappy with how the band fit with my previously purchased engagement ring. I let them know this immediately. They lied about how the band and ring fit together. Repeteadly. First they told me no straight band would fit, only a contoured band. Then only a specific band. Then my band but only if I hadn’t chosen bigger stones. So three times they stated different things.
They were happy to go back and forth over message for 11 days with no offer from them for a refund. The refused to properly make the item shipped with tracking on Etsy, hindering my ability to start a case. I reported my issue on 10/08 and they offered a refund on 10/19 for the first and only time.
They were fine lying repeatedly and changing their story until I posted a review somewhere that wouldn’t be buried by sheer numbers / Etsy’s algorithm. Then they lied some more. They never offered me a refund until yesterday, and all their boasted reviews aren’t glowing. The ones Etsy pushes forward are. Flush is flush, I don’t care how many mm between the rings you gathered from a static photo of me with them shoved together as tightly as possible. Hands move, rings move.
As soon as I possibly could I returned “their” ring. I had zero interest in keeping a ring I did nothing but complain about. I am still unable to open a case with Etsy because they won’t properly mark the item as shipped with tracking, as I received it almost two weeks ago. I was “out of their return return” because they dragged this out as long as possible.
I am an emergency room nurse and I planned on wearing a band to work. Thank you Jen and Colleen for making this a miserable process and leaving me with nothing to wear after the biggest...
Read moreI’ll be honest, my plan was to go on Brilliant Earth’s website, pick a ring and my bf was going to pay for it and he was going to use that ring to propose to me. Well it didn’t go that way and I’m so glad we didn’t do it that way!!
He then asked me, “why don’t you look for someone on Etsy, those small businesses always can do our support!” At first I wasn’t going with the idea, because I wanted a reputable company that I can turn to in case something happened. But that’s when he Google’d and went on Reddit typing in “best moissanite jeweler” and there it was, someone named “J Hollywood Designs”. I went on her Instagram and saw these beautiful rings she’s been working on and I went on her website to see it was a legitimate website with EVERY SINGLE DETAILS, just about anything you can think of (ring info, types of stones Info, stone warranty policy, timeframe, company they work with, ect). I reached out and ask for my specific ring design along with the cut and shape I wanted, after scrolling through pictures on IG looking at their work! I even asked if it could get here before the end of June. Sure enough Jen and Colleen made it happen like magic! I got the ring within a month exactly and it’s beyond beautiful! I learn so many valuable lessons through this process!
1.) Always support small businesses when you can! It’s so worth it!
2.) Big named chains isn’t everything!! I got the price of my ring for a STEAL, a very beautiful 2 Carat Moissanite 14k White Gold Ring!! Would’ve cost us sooo much money on Brilliant Earth! Also, they’re on top of their stuff and will be there to walk you through anything you need!!
3.) Do your research always, trust the process!

Read moreI cannot say enough great things about these ladies and their process. They took my wild idea of resetting my Tiffany diamond in a very modern, unique ring next to a grey Moissanite (listed on their Etsy site as the Zaya). From the first DM with my idea, they were responsive, excited, informative and supportive through the process. She sent me an artist rendering almost immediately. It was perfect. Then I sent my diamond, she rendered again and it was better than what I thought I wanted. My ring is perfectly me, the quality and the craftsmanship of the setting as well as the cut gem matched that of the Tiffany and Co. setting I started with. I adore my ring. It was exactly my dream, and it breathed new life into a 20 year old ring. I’ve already received so many compliments. Beyond all of this, it was affordable. When they say “Ballin’ on a Budget”, they mean it. And I love the use of Moissanite. I love that it sits next to an overpriced diamond. What mattered to me at 22 was the blue box and white bow, what matters at 42 is being ethical, humane, socially and financially responsible. Now those two worlds sit side by side in the most perfect...
