Used to be an okay place to work. As a Doffer you’d look up to Techs and Weavers and want to be one yourself one day after you put your time and effort into your job. As working here for sometime now and it’s become an unpleasant place to work. It was so great during pick pay, now they’ve made another pay change and if you let the loom sit to long you loose money, it’s spiraling out into just a place to go in and hope to do no wrong. Second shift and third shift doesn’t have the people to run like they are expected to, fixers having to run from one side of the mill to the other, managers not managing is a big problem as Gary says “we have people on first that aren’t great either” and just let it continue. Uppers need to change for the little people to change. People are not machines nor should one have to ever feel like that they are having to be one. I used to want to wear the shirts they give out to the employees and represent my workplace but since all the new rules come into place with wrongs and stop times…ect, it’s not really a place I would recommend to anybody, The people I work with are great and respectful to one another except for supervisors micromanaging. Since Mike Walkers passing I know for sure 3rd shift hasn't been the same. Jamie on 2nd is pretty good to get along with. And I for one wouldn’t recommend anyone go to 1st. Steve is great but not so much for the rest. I just hope it gets better sometime sooner rather than later. I love my job and the people I work with but something’s got to give. It’s not that “people just don’t want to work anymore” it’s that valdese just doesn’t want to give a fair wage to anyone when they can just hire someone off the street until they get tired and leave. They say “every job is the same” which is false. No job in the mill is the same, different looms run better than others but they don’t want to accommodate for that. Another rule that’s now in place if you do wrong, the accusation is you will be sent home without pay, and to go as far as giving people points when they show up for work is beyond me. Not to mention but you’d think giving people time when they come in to get caught up would be a great idea so the quality and efficiency is better but nope, it’s going to count against you and drop your pay. They are making it so hard for people to enjoy a work place and it’s doesn’t seem to be looking up...
Read moreWriting this review for my mom…this company is the absolute worst! You know she had surgery to remove cancer and had to undergo treatment for a couple months, she kept you up to date with every single dr note. And then when she gives you the last one with the dr clearing her to come back to work, she asks if everything is all good? And you blatantly told her her job was good and waiting for her to come back. ONLY for her to receive a letter in the mail…not a text, not an email, not a phone call, but a letter saying that as of two weeks ago prior she no longer had a position there! This company is so foul and cruel and if your an employee and ever get cancer they will say “too bad so sad bye” such a...
