Brunks Cut N Carve Meat Shop — Local services in Vandalia

The staff that works here are horrible. I have been to this shop many many times and it's the same treatment. You walk in and one of the two miserable lady's behind the counter grumble a little under their breath. Then it's a nonverbal awkward silence, which cannot be figured out to determine which one you get. Which one your lucky enough to get doesn't matter because they are the same person in different bodies. They ask you what you want and nonverbally confirm your request by going to work. She then slowly walks to the register to tell you the total.

At this point if you pay in cash you save yourself 10 minutes. If you choose credit it's back to the nonverbal awkward silence while you wait for the dialup internet to process your card.

The more people that walk in during your time in the store the more the unrelenting anxiety builds between the two lady's. I often wait for the snapping point where one flips the cash wrap over, rips off her meat apron, and tells everyone to F off before walking out.

I was on a mission to get a picnic ham. The meat markets where I purchased my meats before had them so I didn’t think it would be so hard to find but anyway, after calling most stores in the area, Brunks had picnics! I was told they’d be delivered on 11/22 so call back after the truck got there mid-morning. I called back, and did not get the person that I spoke to the day before, I spoke to an older woman and a younger man. They both had no clue what I was talking about and said I was confused. Well the person I spoke to yesterday (probably the butcher) knew EXACTLY what I was talking about and said no such thing! I went to this local butcher shop looking to find a specialty cut of hanger steak, the staff were attentive and stated they didn't have any that day but I could make an order and come in the next day, so I did. The next day, I came to get it but it wasn't ready so they went to wrap it up however I didn't get to view the contents of my order. After getting home I opened up my package and discovered this was not a hanger steak but a flat-iron. I wasted 2 days of my time and paid good money to be lied to and jerked around.
