I had a king room which seemed geared towards business travelers or couples looking for a 1-2 night stay. Modern, high ceilings, large TV and bathroom.||||Pros:||- Hotel is nearly new (opened late 2021)||- Very clean room||- Bathroom is large, spacious shower and sink that is in the bathroom||- Microwave, refrigerator and coffee nook||- Plenty of places to hang coats, towels, etc.||- Large TV, easy to connect a streaming media player to||- Quiet and functional HVAC||- Friendly front desk staff||- Close to airport, I-75, dining options nearby||||Cons:||- Shower head is high and may be difficult to adjust for shorter people||- Water pressure could be better||- Room lacks a sitting or eating area||- Not the most sound-proof rooms (there were people coming in late in the halls, but to be expected).||- Could use more outlets closer to the bed||||The hotel is in a newly-developed area, looks to be an extension of the "York Commons" shop and dining area south of the airport. As it is, it's right on the edge of housing and there's empty lots around, but the neighborhood feels safe (at least compared to the rest of Dayton).||||I still give this hotel a 5-star rating despite the cons (nit picks really) because it's perfect for what it is - a new, clean, well-appointed place to rest close to the airport and...
Read moreAbsolutely awful stay. added an extra star because the room was nice. Called in advance (while on a 10 hour drive) to make sure they had a pack n play, before we stopped for the night. They confirmed that they had one and would bring it to the room. So I went ahead and made a reservation for one night. We arrive around midnight with our baby. Once checked in, i ask about the pack n play to which she says "it might be broken, but if we can't find one we will give you extra sheets". I'm unsure how extra sheets are going to fix this problem? I don't know why none of the staff could call us to inform us that they didnt have one or it was broken? We would have gladly found another hotel because this was really important to have. Wildly incompetent. We have stayed in many hotels and this is a first for us. After a sleepless night for everyone and another 10 hour drive ahead, someone tried to get into our room at 8am. Apparently, the cleaning service went to the wrong room. On top of that, the smoke alarms flash brightly in the room?? I called the front desk to ask if this was normal and she said "yes". For all this inconvenience and incompetence, we were waved the pet fee plus some bonus points. I never intend to stay at another fairfield/marriot hotel...
Read moreIf you do not need to stay in North Dayton, it is recommended you find another Marriott property- perhaps in Beavercreek. The only good part so far of my long stay- the initial check in. After that it has been a downhill experience. Despite asking repeatedly for my room to be cleaned, today is Day 5, and nobody has cleaned it. At this point if they could just provide me a vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies I would do it myself. Since nobody has cleaned, this means also no refresh of the complimentary coffee in the room- which is WAY better than the brown hot water they are serving at "breakfast." Speaking of which, you are better off eating at the IHOP on Miller Road or even find a McDs. The "eggs" are essentially reconstituted egg yolks. The oatmeal, when they actually put it out, is terrible. The Quaker microwaveable packet is much better. The front desk attendant in the middle of the day is sweet but not able to resolve issues. The area, off Miller Road, is a bit of a dump- especially with several homeless people migrating around the sidewalks. As a Platinum Elite member I have NEVER been more DISAPPOINTED in a Marriott property. The Franchise owner should be aware of the disaster that this hotel has become. Please, find another...
