I had given this establishment a 5 star review. But after what happened to me and my son on our last visit is completely uncalled for and inexcusable!!! I got the steak hibachi and my son got the chicken hibachi. At first my son said double chicken and then said no just double rice instead of the veggies. He told the waiter about 6 times that he didn’t want double chicken just double rice. The cook comes out. Cooks our food and even when the cook came out he said double rice with chicken and my son said yes. Fast forward to getting the bill… we got charged for double chicken and double rice. (Rice is usually free when you don’t get veggies) so I asked our waiter about it and he then proceeded to argue with me and tell me I was wrong and got double chicken. I told him my son said it literally 6 times no double chicken just double rice. (My son is 21) he goes and gets the mean lady at the register. You know the one who doesn’t greet you and acts like her life is miserable and she hates her existence?? I guess she’s a manager or owner? Who knows?? Anyway, he goes and gets her and she comes to the table and proceeds to yell at me that I’m gonna pay this and I said no I’m not. I’ll pay for what we ordered , but I’m not paying anything extra. I even got charged for 2 drinks when I only got a water lol!!! She ended up arguing with me more but eventually realized I wasn’t budging and only charged me for rice. (When the menu states it’s free when you don’t get veggies) I paid for the free rice and our regular meals and she then decided to be very snarky to me as I’m paying the bill. And the waiter figured he’d join in on the snarky vibe too. And was basically saying I wanted free food. I said no sir I just didn’t want to be overcharged!!! I was so mad when I left that place. I will never return to this sake. I’ll drive out of the way to another place before I ever go here again!! Just flat out rude, nasty people that work there. If I could give them a zero I would! Good job to them for losing a frequent...
Read moreIf I could give fewer stars I would. The building is dilapidated. We still gave it a shot because there was a coupon from the Reach magazine. The first time we went it was good. The food was delicious and the run down exterior was forgotten. This Friday, 8/26 we went back. It was myself, my husband, and our almost three year old son. Our son had been with us before and really liked the "show". Anyhow, upon greeting the hostess. I say greeted her, because she was far from welcoming to us with a gruff how many? We told her three. She offered us a booster which was great. She walked us to a totally empty table. Their table arrangements have two on either side and three in the middle. The hostess asked us to sit two on the side with the third in the middle section. We said we'd prefer to sit altogether to better watch our son and converse. The hostess said that was not an option. My husband then said, "do you want to just go somewhere else?" I asked the woman why we (a part of three) couldn't sit at the three top portion. She said because it was a weekend they were too busy. I said this table is empty and we don't mind waiting until a couple comes in to fill in the two top side she was trying to make us fill (I figured it wouldn't be long Friday night is a common date night). She told me no. I said it would be helpful to put our son in the middle of us. She still said no. I said ok, let's leave. While I was buckling my son in a couple walked in the restaurant. I walked back in the restaurant to ask why we couldn't have just waited, had the couple sit in the two person seating area, and our party not been expected to straddle the corner. The hostess had no answer. I asked to speak to her manager. He/She was not there. I asked to speak to her boss. He/she was also not there. I asked to speak to the owner and she handed me a business card. Our family will not be back. I recommend your family...
Read moreWe were seated fairly quickly,(dine-in, rather than teppanyaki seating)
Staff were very nice and the decor/atmosphere was super cool looking, the worst part was the food however.
We ordered three things to get a taste of the sushi menu, a common Philadelphia Roll, a dynamite roll, and a Super Roll house speciality.
Each one of them were pretty bad tasting and overly priced. The food tasted exactly like how they labeled the ingredient items on the menu, because it felt like they just threw the ingredients in there without any culinary thought unfortunately.
The 6.50ish Philadelphia Roll looked and tasted extremely cheap like what you would find at a grocery store. They put a huge slab of cream cheese, so it was basically cream cheese filled rice ball.
The 8.50 Dynamite roll was one of the better items as it was fairly good. It was nicely tempura fried and covered in a tasty sauce. But fairly okay tasting compared to other sushi places.
The Super Roll, one of the more expensive specialty sushi items priced at around 13.50 or so tasted like we were eating a garden salad. The ingredients were I believe, tempura shrimp, teriyaki sauce, seaweed, crab, asparagus, and other tasty sounding ingredients, fell extremely flat in execution. They apparently had forgot the main ingredient which was the shrimp in 75% of the rolls because they just had asparagus and vegetables.
They also had given small portions for all the sushi so we were fairly starving afterwards.
We also felt nauseous afterwards driving home. Bad restaurant food, hope they redo the menu or the way the make their food in the future, i'd hope to come again someday, but I'll go somewhere...
