This is a MIXED review, good & bad. Michael C., store manager, was very helpful during our two visits, assisting us in the selection process & helping us find the mattress & frame that met our needs. He is quite knowledgeable about his product lines. On our 2nd visit, we selected a mattress (closeout model) & motion air adjustable frame (floor model sale). We paid, signed the invoice, made delivery arrangements & were basically happy customers. We do like our bed & delivery was easy & efficient. However, we have concerns about the purchase transaction. After carefully reviewing the invoice/receipt, we canât help but question why specific items (delivery, mattress protector, 10-yr frame service plan) are listed separately on the receipt, totaling $580. We were told during both visits that these items were âincludedâ in the quoted price. When we were told âincluded,â we assumed that meant with no extra charge. Our interpretation was obviously wrong. The purchase breakdown on the invoice showed $99.95 for âdeluxeâdelivery, $199.95 for 10-yr frame service plan, & $279.95 for a waterproof mattress protector. When I questioned these charges, Michael said they are âincludedâ but those items had to be listed individually on the invoiceâcompany policy. We accepted his explanation as we were short on time. But the more we think about it, the more we question these charges. When we were told âincluded,â we did not consider that maybe we should have had a CHOICE in electing these items. We called once before delivery to clarify, but apparently the store was closed. We also sent a text questioning these charges (after delivery) but havenât received a response yet. (We may have texted Michael when he was not working. We apologize if that is the case.) Regardless, our experience is important to share & explains the reason for the 2-Star rating. Use of the term âincludedâ versus the reality of what that word means is important. From looking at the invoice breakdown, we think we should have had an OPTION of accepting those particular items since they are listed separately, with separate charges. We might have elected NOT to accept those âincludedâ items & save a substantial amount of money, if given a choice. We could have picked up the purchase rather than pay a delivery fee; we would have purchased a mattress protector at a substantially lower price someplace else; maybe we would have decided we did not want to purchase a ten-year service plan on the frame. We suggest you ask explicit, detailed questions & clearly understand what you are purchasing, what is âincludedâ in the purchase price, choices you may have in accepting certain costs, etc. Being told that the frame ($688) included a service plan, then to receive a receipt that shows the frame was $488 & the 10-yr service plan $199.95 is questionable. Should we have had the option to refuse that plan especially when we were purchasing a floor model, & save $200? ASK if you have options. We thought it was included, but was not. ASK if you can REFUSE the $279.95 mattress protector that is supposedly âincludedâ in the mattress purchase & save $280. Verbally being told âincludedâ does not necessarily mean what you think. Did we have options on those three items? We are still confused. UPDATE: Did we have options on those three items? Apparently not. When Michael explained it to me today, he said that the frame would have been $688, with or without the service plan. The same with the mattressâthe price would not change regardless of whether we took the cover or not. Delivery, however, was supposedly something we requested, but we did not. We have a 3/4 ton truck & would have picked up our purchase rather than pay a $100 delivery fee. We are working with Michael to correct the âconfusion,â but it is doubtful that we will come out of this transaction...
   Read moreI highly recommend Bears furniture the employees and Staff is a very helpful with any questions I have had. My motherâs lift chair has Become broken. The service plan I carried on the lift chair has determined the chair is unfixable and is giving me a store credit at Bears where I bought the first lift chair for the same money. I purchased the lift chair for her eight years ago.. I went to Bears store in Meadville to choose another lift chair and Michael. The employee of the store was very helpful. He answered all my questions and explained many other items of the chair and other material of the chair and different qualities of the chair and said he is willing to work with us to be able to get the chair as soon as possible . I felt very comfortable with Michael asking him any questions and discussing the situation we were in and we were getting a lift chair and he answered and helped us work through all the issues that we were having I highly recommend going out and Talking to Michael if you need a lift chair, a recliner or any mattress that you may need he is very helpful and wise and definitely The man you need to talk too. I recommend Bears furniture for any of your needs and feel comfortable saying they Well, go above and beyond hoping you out to get what you really want and to help with any service problem you need on your furniture. Michael (the store manager) greeted us as soon as we walked in and asked us for just a moment as he was helping another customer who had just bought a mattress and was loading it into a pick up truck. When he returned it was really a great experience. He asked us a few questions as to what we were looking for and had us try out a mattress. After trying one, he asked us a few more questions as to what we liked, didn't like, our sleeping habits etc. The new mattress he had us try was the one! In all the conversations he was very knowledgeable and professional with us and we never felt pressured the entire visit. He was very good at explaining the mattress types and what made them different or better than others, showing us the different coils and things. My wife and I really enjoyed the shopping visit. He than went over the sales receipt and the warranty with us explaining everything in detail. After that we set up the delivery date. Michael did a really great job and was a great person...
