Wald Park — Local services in Vestavia Hills

The playground at this wald park is really really nice everything is new and in great shape we didn't go to the swimming pool but it looks just as nice as the rest of the park. The ball fields are super nice. Only drawback that I see about this park is at the main concession stands bathrooms are not handicap accessible Even though they show beside the door that they are handicapped. You open the door and there's a brick wall dead in your face a person in a wheelchair or scooter cannot hardly even make the turn in through the door of the bathroom. Look at my pictures and you'll see what I'm talking about You push the door open and it hits the wall it's dead in your face You have to make a sharp left turn 90° and then as soon as you go about 5 ft you have to make another one into the bathroom. Whoever designed these bathrooms has never been in a wheelchair...

About as perfect as a park could be, it has everything that you want tennis, playgrounds, multiple areas, so you can walk your furry friends. It's relatively easy to get a parking spot. So let's dive in a little further and explore.

Atmosphere: I will admit it is a pretty big park. I often think of the stairs as a good workout for any gym enthusiast. The grass is greener on the other side. But mostly important of all, the park is 24 hours. The people that come here are mostly people with pets or families.

Amenities: They just have about everything you could think of restrooms, sport related activities, probably even some fire work event in July. There are signs conveniently placed so you could look at the map on where to go.

Otherwise I think it's a great park, I would give it a rating of 10 out of 10 for all visitors that live in Vestavia or...

I am so very impressed with every aspect of the new park/the entire complex.

I love that they planted trees and wildflowers, so it has a much more natural feel, like it always should have been. There was a time frame in general in which nature was metaphorically “out of style” and it seemed the thing to do was to flatten all trees and cram a bunch of construction in an area- I’m completely speaking about most places in general, and I’d say maybe 13/15 ish years ago.
