I had given 3 stars however am now back to lower that number due to the interaction I had with the gentleman that answered the phone today. He even admitted to being the one to arrange the flowers for a basket arrangement I was sending for a Sympathy bouquet that cost substantially more than I would have ever paid for the final product. What a disgrace indeed. I called to let the flower shoppe Ellis' know of my disappointment. The flowers that they say "were a substitution" were simple mums that I could have purchased at the local walmart....the only saving grace was that it did have the white roses....not as many as should have been according to the photo mind you...and also....no basket (i chose the medium bouquet) When I politely explained this to the gentleman, his answer was " Perhaps next time you should go to Walmart and make your own bouquet" He went on to say I have been in business for over 30 years, I knew that this call was one that was going to go no where with customer service in mind. At that point all I could say was " I am happy for you and if I lived anywhere close to them I would have not called you". I then hung up the phone, gently. What a shame and a waste of our time and hard earned money. If I would have read a post like this, I would not have called in the first place. My name is Kathleen and I don't know about you, but I just think that this was cold, rude and sad. I did not even ask for anything, just to share my...
Read moreNIGHTMARE!!!! Ordered over $150 worth of flowers and candy through Teleflora for my mom and grandmom on Valentine's day. Ellis Florist turned what should have been a pleasant surprise into a NIGHTMARE!
First, Ellis Florist claimed to not deliver to my mom's address (Lyons zip code but in Oak Park) then made my mom come get her flowers/candy. Next day, a day AFTER it should have been delivered, Ellis Florist shows up at my grandmom's house (which is crazy because my grandmom lives next door to my mom and remember Ellis could not deliver there!) with flowers.
However, Ellis Florist did not bring the entire order - just the flowers! My grandmom then only discovers this when I tell her and she drives to Ellis Florist to get her candy. After 15 miles of driving, the guy at Ellis Florist says "we are out of candy". My grandmom says "this should have been delivered yesterday" and the guy says "I know" and turns around and WALKS AWAY!
Ellis Florist is a RIP OFF - offered to credit me $20 for the candy. WHAT ABOUT the $15 delivery fee for my mom's flowers that you said you didn't deliver there, the $15 delivery fee for my grandmom's because you were a day late and only brought half the order, and the $30 for the candy I paid for that you didn't bring??
You have got to be kidding me! Teleflora you need to blacklist...
Read moreI tried to use Ellis Florist to order flowers for the funeral home in memory of a dear friend. I ordered a lovely little arrangement of African violets and miniature roses on line. A few moments after I placed the order, I got a call from a man at the florist who said he did not have the violets and did not know of any other florist in the area who would have anything similar. As I tried to find out what he would recommend in its place, he rudely informed me the delivery charge I paid would be much higher since the flowers were to go to Reidsville. I had no problem with the additional charge but asked why he didn't like to deliver to Reidsville He replied in a condescending tone, "because it is 30 minutes one way!" I asked what he could do (again thinking he would make suggestions for alternative solutions) and he exclaimed, "I'm going to void the order, that's what!" His tone and comments indicated to me he did not need or want my business. I will accommodate that feeling in all my future florist needs in the Toombs, Tattnall, Montgomery, Truetlen, Appling and surrounding areas and suggest all my friends and acquaintances...
