My husband gets his prescriptions filled here. So I usually don't actually shop here, just grab his stuff and go. Well yesterday I actually had a bunch of stuff I needed to grab. We only have a Target by us, Walmart is cheaper. The pharmacy was quick and easy as usual. No complaints about the pharmacy. They are always professional. Everything was great until I went to check out. There was only one open cashier, and a line of maybe two people. The store wasn't super busy. But self check out had no wait and I needed everything bagged a certain way so I went there. The second I started scanning an employee, older white woman, was literally hovering over me. All up in my personal space, I could smell her breath she was that close. As offensive and uncomfortable as it was to have this woman in my personal space for a prolonged period, due to her age, I let it go. I don't take pleasure in telling off anyone, let alone elderly people. But then she pushed it. As I was getting ready to leave she said I didn't ring up my pillow. It was actually the first thing I scanned and I told her as much. Then she wanted to argue about it. I don't remember my exact words but it was along the lines of, you've been literally hovering over me since I got here. I thought you were enjoying the show but turns out you weren't even paying attention. You aren't "doing your job" you're just being needlessly annoying. After showing her the $9.44 charge on the screen, I then asked her if she was done or could I pay and leave. For the record I have never stolen anything a day in my life. On that note I have never in my life been charged with any crime, much less theft. To have someone in my personal space like I'm doing something illegal is bad enough. But to have a literal audience the whole time I'm checking out, that was there for no reason for, because she wasn't even paying attention is just ridiculous. You want to check my receipt, fine. But what the hell are you accomplishing by invading a customers personal space the whole time they check out then accuse them anyway? I will never in my life shop here again and I had my husband switch his pharmacy. It's totally fine to take measures to prevent shoplifting. But treating a customer the way I was treated isn't it. The only reason I didn't immediately say something is because, unlike the employee, I actually try to show people respect. Until they really push it, like this employee did. Talk to your employees. This is not okay. Check receipts at the door like every other location. Or maybe if you are going to hover over a customer actually pay attention and don't make accusations that are baseless and easily disproven because your just being needlessly annoying. Not actually trying to prevent...
Read moreMiddle-aged, Caucasian female employee with short hair at customer service desk was rude and unhelpful when I tried to return new, unopened items that I received as gifts without a receipt. Walmart's website says it accepts returns without receipts if you show a government-issued ID.
Instead, this dismissive employee said there is a limit on the number of items that can be returned without a receipt. I asked what the limit was, and she said, "We can't tell you that." She shoved my items back to me and said, "This is way too many. You'll have to get the receipt" and refused to help further.
I would've been fine with exchanging the items (even a couple of them) for something I could actually use, but the employee never suggested any other option. Her snippy attitude implied that I was doing something wrong or criminal -- perhaps that I had stolen the merchandise or gotten them in some other nefarious way. (I agree with other reviewers who suggest that this store's employees have racist tendencies.) You'd think returns of multiple items after Christmas would be a fairly routine thing.
What a horrible way to treat customers. The person who gifted me these items paid Walmart hard-earned cash for them. They simply weren't items that I could use, so an in-store credit toward a future purchase or an exchange for similarly priced items would've been fair. Instead, your rude employee just ensured that Walmart lost a longtime customer as I will never spend another penny at a retailer that treats customers this shabbily.
Update: Walmart Customer Care emailed me after I sent feedback, and they admitted that post-holiday returns without a receipt should be a smooth and hassle-free process. It surely wasn't. They told me I could've asked to speak to a manager. Well, I was so disgusted that I just wanted to get the heck out of there. By the way, I returned the items without a receipt with absolutely no problem, and no attitude, at a retail competitor for in-store credit -- and the customer service employee there was polite, friendly, understanding and helpful. How refreshing. That's where I will be taking all my business from now on. No more...

Mens gloves located in 4+ areas of the store.
An aisle of moisturizers and acids and creams to put on your skin, but no St. Ives.
At the cash register, I checked three different fridges and found not a single 16-20 ounce bottle/can of water or carbonated water.
Looking for a brush/ice scraper for my car. Stuff breaks, you know? They’re hidden off in the corner. After the snow we had yesterday and will have again in a few days? Tf is you doing? You know what’s easier to find than winter items on December 29? Bicycles. Ride them up out the store without paying for them, tf they gon do? But in all seriousness, think of the lost sales. If it’s snowing out, you will sell more items related to that if they are easily accessible. For example, not in the very back of the automotive section. Like on display in a prominent location in the automotive area.
I had actually given up on gloves after the first two places I found them didn’t have what I was looking for. The third time I didn’t even bother trying any on. The fourth time I finally found what I want. You know how there are a bunch of different kinds of shoes and they’re all in the same place? Okay, so think of the same thing with gloves. The “gloves” section, as opposed to, different sections for different activities, with gloves related to the activities in that section. Maybe an exception for baseball gloves, but that’s the sole exception.
Their fruity single-serve alcohol section is mostly malt liquor+sugar.
Grocery section is in a weird location.
You walk in the door, there are giant bottles of water. You’re thirsty af, so you decide today is the day to finally get one. Then you spend over 10 minutes locating the devices that dispense the water from the 5-gallon jug.
Greying and balding, I was asked for ID to purchase a box of Franzia, and my dob was recorded. Few other stores do this. I feel this is an invasion of my privacy.
+1 star because of friendly and helpful...
