This place changed my entire outlook on life.

From the moment I entered the building, I immediately knew I was at home. The atmosphere was unbelievable. Salad around every corner, waiting to be consumed. Salad Builders as far as the eye could see, working hard for every customer, preparing each salad to a perfection never before fathomed. I went up to order and was immediately greeted by the caring arms of a Salad Builder. Immediately, I knew this man knew his craft, the way he attentively provided for every customer, motivation in his eyes. He spoke, with a voice so angelic.

“What can I get fresh for you today?”

I was shaking, for I had seen the face of god. Tears rolled down my face, and I knew my life had peaked. I asked for the man’s name, and he replied “Ethan.”

Ethan.

The name pierced my heart with its beauty, the way it rolled so naturally off the tongue. This man was a genius. I knew I had to speak up. I ordered a salad and he immediately got to work, as though he had lived a hundred Salad Builder lives before this. I watched in awe as this master of work added each ingredient so perfectly, with such grace. Before I even had the chance to sit in my chair, he handed me the salad. It was beautiful.

“Take a bite,” he said.

His command pierced my body, and I obeyed, my muscles moving in a way that made my heart yearn as the fork grew closer to my mouth, my whole body shuddering as the prongs touched my lips. And it was beautiful. With just one crunch, my world had been changed. The crispy greens, the tangy sauce, making every taste bud flutter with excitement. I felt like I ascended. Every crunch of the salad made me feel euphoric joy like nothing before.

Our gazes met like again and a fierce feeling sparked, I could feel my cheeks burn red like the tomatoes he placed so delicately in my salad. My thoughts were interrupted as a gentle hand was placed on my shoulder. “How did it taste?” he asked in a calming voice, grazing my ears with its melody. I knew I would never taste food that sent such a fire through me again in my life. This salad builder has forever changed my life. Forage Kitchen has gained a new worshiper as I yearn for my heart to feel as filled as I have on my first time. I knew I had to return and feel the embrace of the salad again and again.

I gazed once more at the Salad Builder’s eyes. I realized something upon looking closer. His eyes were green, green like the salad that had just graced my life. “Did you enjoy it?” He asked curiously.

I love Forage Kitchen but this location is a disaster. The first bad experience I brushed off because they just opened. The times after this I was irritated but reminded myself it was closer to home and saving me a drive to Madison. Today, I was furious. I will make the long drive to Hilldale mall in Madison just to eat at their excellent location.

For starters, employees here are not nice. I worked in the food industry for many years and trust me it is not challenging to greet customers and acknowledge individuals standing by the counter waiting for service. Forget a smile (I know that is far too much to ask for in 2025). The three employees working ignored anyone walking in and they looked pissed off. I had to yell and wave my arms to get attention.

I should be upset that my mobile order took almost an hour when the estimated time was 20 minutes. How can I care about that when I notice how filthy the place is and the complete mess by the food (dishes scattered everyone, bowls piled up, uncleaned surfaces, etc.). It was gross.

When I asked an employee where I could find my mobile order, I was informed that it would be ready in a few minutes. 20 minutes later a customer kindly let me skip him in line at the register so I could get the attention of another employee who said my mobile order will be worked on now. NOW? 20 minutes later. No apology, no explanation.

I sat back down and waited. I watched one of the employees prepare a bowl, turn around and grab pieces of something out of the bowl...tossing it into the trash. This employee turned back around with the bowl and started adding other items. This was a to-go bowl and the cross contamination deeply concerns me. If management reads this, I've already submitted a complaint about this and if you are able to view your video footage, you can see it yourself. If an incorrect item is added to a bowl, you should remake it. There are so many individuals with severe allergies. Anyone can get sick from this.

I am so disappointed. I brought my power bowl home and it is sitting in my refrigerator. I'm actually not comfortable eating it. This place needs new employees, a deep cleaning and serious improvement. I actually apologized to the employee for bothering her after waiting for almost an hour for my food. I apologized...

If you keep your employees, perhaps send them to Madison for training. They run a smooth...

I want to love this place so badly but every single time I order something is wrong with my food. The first time, the black rice was raw, crunchy and inedible. The next time, door dash delivery driver stole my food and never delivered it. The next two times they missed ingredients that were supposed to be in my bowl/salad. And now today the delivery driver delivered my order to the wrong house!! I had to load up the car with my infant, drive to the store and pick it up myself. When I got home, I noticed THEY DIDNT PUT THE EGG OR SCALLIONS IN MY SALAD!!! It’s incredibly frustrating. I struggle to feed myself all day as a new mom because all of my time and energy goes to taking care of my baby. I try to get some food delivered and it never arrives. Then it’s missing ingredients. I most likely will not be back. The food here is so tasty and it’s the only healthy food option near my house. I wish they could get it right. How hard is it to put the correct ingredients into a Bowl??

Also, if you order delivery Through forage kitchen, door dash does not send you any kind of confirmation email for tracking your order. So when your order goes missing and you try to contact DoorDash, they have no idea how to find your order And basically can do...
