First Watch — Restaurant in Village of Pewaukee

1/2025: A return visit today: We visited late morning on a Wednesday and while it was not packed, it was surely busy. We were greeted and seated immediately and our server arrived quickly. I had the original Eggs Benedict with potatoes, and my friend had the Trifecta, both of which were delicious. I mentioned I would be using my birthday gift of a BOGO (for giving them my info) and they also brought a delish Blueberry Muffin with whipped cream. The presentation was darling! But the most impressive part of our visit was the kindness and generosity of the GM, Jesse A., who donated me a gift card for an upcoming fundraising event at the Food Pantry of Waukesha County. The kindness he showed was honest and greatly appreciated. He is a wonderful representative of First Watch and his response alone tells me this place should be honored and supported with our business. Thank you so much, Jesse. This location is fully accessible and the parking is easy. In the warmer weather, the outdoor seating will be wonderful. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the sound level makes for easy conversations.

Original review: The new location here in Pewaukee does not disappoint. The atmosphere is beautiful and we got a table as soon as we walked in (Tuesday at 9:30am). My first visit to First Watch was last Saturday. It was very busy at 12:30. I was impressed by the impeccable service. Chris was our host, he was professional and polite. We had a longer than expected wait and Chris facilitated our seating expeditiously.

Our server Sage greated us almost immediately and presented an enthusiastic smile and energetic personality. She was an absolute stand out, seeing as it was my first visit, she was more than happy to go over the plethora of offerings. Sage was very patient and maintained an genuine, engaging smile the entire time. She made my son (12 yo) and I feel like family while maintaining professionalism. He commented on how nice Sage was and asked if we could come back soon.

The food was delicious, I had a turkey BLT and my son ordered french toast.

I'd noticed the entire staff glancing at each table to check on the guests. Jessie was one of them, with her gracious demeanor she confirmed that Sage wasn't the exception.

As a comparison, I've been to Sweet Diner in the third ward several dozens of times for many years. They started out strong but in the last few years, they have declined, the food is good however, the customer service and attitude of the staff is sorely lacking. In addition, Sweet Diner has always been one of the loudest restaurants I've visited, it's very hard to carry on a conversation unless you're in a booth.

So very excited to try this location as I had been to other locations in the area. The menu was very appealing. Our bacon was delicious and my mother's meal was excellent. In contrast, I selected the pick two. In the menu it states that you can pick two from a group of selections. In the past, I HAVE ordered two sandwiches of different styles at the Brookfield, WI location. Our server, Ariel, stated this was not allowed. Instead, I received the tomato basil soup. It was HORRIFIC. Tasted like metal. Had two spoonfuls. I immediately informed our server. He returned to the table and stated that the soup is stored in a metal container which is why it tasted this way. He offered to replace it with fruit. This was not an option. Additonally, our beverages were not refilled and sat empty. The restaurant had a total of 7 tables in the entire place so there wasnt a sense of urgency. We received our bill.
