So upset! Had to get the Smartstart installed in my boyfriends brand new car. From the second the engine light kept turning on/off and the car was sputtering. We were told it wasnt the smartstart that it was another problem in the engne. Took it to the dealer and another auto shop who both said it was the smartstart device. Called DTP and was told its not the device its something else. They didnt even say to bring it in that they would look at it. Poor customer service. So we called the Smartstart 800 number and was told to take it to another place and IF it was the device that they would pay for it. Well, it was fixed within a hour of being there. The device was wired wrong. The guy said he couldnt believe that the car still ran. Terrible customer service at DTP. They should of atleast said they would take a look at it. If we hadnt called the 800 number then we would of had to pay for the bad device to be uninstalled and a new one installed. And once the guy that fixed it looked at our paperwork and saw that it was DTP, he laughed and said he gets alot of their customers. Never again...
Read morePrice went from $120-$140 for radio installation to $280 plus tax, adding radio to my suv, price went up because they had to remove back right panel to access amplifier, and they had me purchased a amp wiring bypass harness, and act like like they didn't know that's part of the work for installation, I felt like I was being hustled, I got nervous everytime the service manager came to talk to me because it felt like he wanted me to spend $500+ for a $50 radio installation then wanted to charge me a additional separate $380 to install rear camera that came already with the radio, plug n play installation(it felt like plug and Pay),And to top it all off the speaker wire connection that came with the radio was in my suv all this time, and it magically went missing, so installation was halted because of that so i had enough of this con games and they undid everything. I didn't want to ask what would be the cost to fix this because I knew they was going to jack up the prices just to make a dollar off of me or he wanted me to buy one of his radios, nonetheless, I do Not recommend this car...
