The pluses first: Very good selection of South Asian products and a good variety of East Asian products. This is not the place to look for specialty European, Central, or South American products, as they are generally well represented in major chains and other specialty markets in the area. Recently, they have added a limited wine/beer/low-alcohol liquor section, a ramp, and a cart corral. I've shopped here several times since they opened and the frozen sections are always well stocked and maintained. However, the produce and refrigerated items have been inconsistent both in terms of selection and quality. This may be a combination of supply chain and general inventory turnover, but I suspect the latter plays a big part right now. Two particular areas of concern that I have are: First, the parking lot is a pot hole-filled disaster. They should really take this up with their landlord because they are not the only tenant sharing the lot. Secondly, I have shopped for a single item (coconut chutney) a couple of times. Both times I looked, they had the product in stock but the 'best-by' dates were months in the past. I mentioned this the first time I noticed, but decided that it was not a priority for them the second time. I don't know how widespread the issue may be. Additionally, the customer service area appears to be in disarray, lending a sense of clutter and disorganization that really doesn't reflect the rest of the store. I hope that they can continue to grow their customer base and see faster turnover of fresh items so that they can keep more items in better shape available. Hopefully, the adjacent restaurant will bring additional foot...
Read moreExcellent store, felt like we were transported to an Indian grocery store. Most items from India/Nepal/Bangladesh area...but owner said they are working on stocking more Korean and Japanese dry goods. Currently in that category there are a few sauces and Ramen noodles. Great variety in the vegetable section especially. Minus one star because half the store has no prices. Shop with two baskets...the "confirmed price" to buy basket and the "price check at cashier" basket! And some things have two different prices in different sections of the store. For example the kinderchocolate is listed at $1.99 and $2.50...it was $2.50. In terms of European items- some German and British chocolate at check out and Amish butter in the refrigerated section. Will be back to see what their selection expands to, otherwise I will be back for Naan bread, Indian curry, mango yogurt drinks and...
Read moreI decided to check out the store on opening day. I am not very familiar with Nepali cuisine/products, but I was curious and wanted to support this new local business.
The store has a large selection of fresh, frozen, and non-perishable items. The store was clean and very spacious inside. In fact, my understanding is that it is currently the largest Nepali-owned store in the United States.
The employees were very friendly, and the prices on things seemed reasonable.
I understand that they will be opening a small restaurant inside soon, and am looking forward to...
