First of all, what a beautiful experience. We came here on a whim because we were in the area and Indian food just sounded delicious. This was the closest one to us and I was excited when the description said Indian/Nepali! As soon as we walked in there was only one table seated, Bollywood playing on the TV behind the bar and perfect dim lighting. It was so clean and the food already smelled delicious. We were greeted and sat, given menus and water and then we went to town on the menu. We had samosas that came with a spicy chutney and a sweet chutney. I ordered the chicken tika masala and got hot for my heat level. It was so velvety and the rice was cooked perfectly. My fiancé ordered Jhapali Lamb Thali with hot for the heat level. It was so beautifully displayed and everything tasted delicious on his platter. We also got the bread basket which was abundant! It was so good! We had ordered chai tea and mango lassi at the same time and our server asked if wanted to save the tea for after dinner which was the definitely a great suggestion. Everything was explained to us so well when we were unsure of something and after our meal he told us how to reheat it so we could have a whole new meal! Our server was kind, soft spoken and so helpful. We will definitely be going back again and again. If you haven't been, just go. You don't want...
Read moreFirst experience with Nepalese food and we couldn't have asked for a better introduction. We started with a samosa chaat, incredibly delicious, that was devoured nearly as soon as it came out. My wife had jhapali veg thali, an assortment of small dishes and rice, that were all tasty - my kids really liked the chickpeas and cauliflower. The gulab jamun is one of the best desserts I've ever had. Last, we had momo, which are dumplings served in a soup. The soup was a touch spicy for everyone but me, I ordered it a 5/10 on the spice level, so be cautious if you aren't a fan of heat. The kids demolished the dumplings though, and my wife has already asked me to figure out how to make it.
Service was good, even though she was on her own and obviously pretty busy taking to-go orders, dine-in orders, and probably helping out in the kitchen. She answered all our questions, was really helpful, and kind to the kiddos - she split a mango drink for them.
Definitely recommend and will go again if we're...
Read moreI have been waiting anxiously for this to open. Ordered take out today. Samosa was great and the 2 chutneys served with it were good also. 1 order of naan was one piece. It was a little flat/chewy but got the raita which I dipped it into. Raita was tasty too. I wanted salaak paneer but they were out so I ordered aloo gobi. The sauce was very good with rich flavors and a wonderful color. The main courses in takeout containers was 540 ml which is smaller than other Indian restaurants I go to but then again, the price also reflected the smaller portion. Lastly, I ordered keer. It was warm and thicker than I’m used to but I enjoyed the lightly sweet treat at the end of my meal. They have a lot on their menu and it will take me a long time to get through it. It can definitely be a destination spot for those of us on east side. Give it a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed. I will...
