We had an incredibly positive experience at Scramblers in Pickerington. Despite the bustling breakfast rush, the staff's attentiveness and friendliness stood out. We were promptly greeted and seated, and even while waiting for our server, greeted by additional team members. The restaurant's atmosphere felt relaxed and inviting, with modern and comforting decor. I appreciated the option of indoor or outdoor seating.
The menu offered a wide variety of traditional breakfast dishes, including an impressive selection of omelettes, eggs Benedict, sandwiches, and classic breakfast options. Opting for the standard two eggs, bacon, hash browns, and griddle cakes, every item was flawlessly prepared. The freshness of the eggs and potatoes was evident, cooked perfectly over easy, and the bacon achieved just the right level of crispiness. The highlight was the blueberry griddle cakes – thick and fluffy, they were a delight. The coffee, likely a house blend, was a delicious medium roast served in a carafe, ensuring multiple refills.
While we enjoyed our meal immensely, a minor critique would be the lack of toast accompanying the dish. Despite this minor detail, the breakfast, along with the exceptional staff and inviting atmosphere, made for a perfect dining experience. Knowing that Scramblers has multiple locations in the Columbus area, I'm certain I'll seek out their breakfast offerings again...
Read moreI am irritated with my different experiences. First let me say that the service has always been wonderful, very friendly attentive and helpful. As someone that has waited this is greatly appreciated and I feel I'm a bit more critical than most having been in that line of work.
My issues are with the kitchen. Today we were there about 1, ordered a skillet, the Glass city to be exact. Usually done well, but the past few times I've been there it's been sloppily tossed together and the ingredients, besides the hashbrowns (which I sub for the potato chunks) are never cooked. It honestly looks like they threw the hashbrowns down put raw mushrooms, onions and cold ham on it, covered it with cheese and stuck it under a broiler to melt and that was the end of it. They also are using onions as a filler as they are cheap and there were a TON of them! Tons of raw onion is not appetizing. Toast was also burnt. I will say the eggs were a perfect over easy, that was about the only thing done perfectly about the plate. This has only been a recent issue. When they first opened things were cooked properly and were delicious. I'm willing to give it another try but I will be letting them know next time that I'm not satisfied should things...
Read moreI am only giving 2 stars because the blueberry muffin was so good. My friend, our 2 children and myself went for breakfast, the kids menu is very "skimpy," we have boys and what they offer isn't enough to fill them up. So we were trying to figure out what to add on to satiate our kids but they barely had costs for add ons on the menu. Our waiter got frustrated with our indecisiveness and decided to give us more time, problem is we couldn't figure out what to order not knowing the price of anything. So we finally decided and apparently he didn't understand because both of the kids order came out wrong. They have bottomless refills for soft drinks but he didn't ask if we wanted refills. One of the servers who helped to bring our food asked, but never returned with the refill. Other servers said he was new so we tried to excuse him, everything on our bill was bundled so we still didn't know what cost what. We asked for a manager to break down our bill and she came to the table with an attitude. I was charged extra for the blueberry muffin, which was in the bread pantry, which was supposedly included with my omelette. It was just a horrible experience and my first experience so I definitely will not...
