One of the worst experiences I could of imagined. This was my first tattoo, the experience was awful and now I'm nervous to get another tattoo. We got there 15 min early signed the paperwork and met our tattooer and explained to him what we wanted again. He had no pictures ready so we waited 30 min for him to show us what he got off the internet. It wasn't even close to what I asked for, he gave me attitude because he had to redo it. He took another 30 min to find another picture off the internet. Still was not what I asked for, he got more upset. Did it again, took another 30 min to find another picture off the internet, it was close to what I wanted so I said yes that looks nice. When we did the consultation we told him we wanted no color just black and shading. When he set up for the first tattoo he set up a whole bunch of colors and my friend pointed out that we told him we wanted no color. The guy got more annoyed because he already set up and had to remove it. What's the point of a consultation if your not going to listen. He did the first tattoo and asked my friend if he wanted at least white for certain parts, my friend said no and the tattoo artist did it anyway. Next was my tattoo. I asked him if he could flip my tattoo cause it was not the way I wanted, he said no. I asked if he could put it on the more inner part of my forearm he said no. I would have walked away at that point but since it was my first time and I didn't know better I had paid before I got my tattoo. Very big mistake! I asked for my money back so I could leave and they said no. So at that point I was getting upset and told the guy that he needed to compromise with me and put it where I asked. He got even more upset and annoyed, removed the pre-tattoo and moved it more where I wanted it. We got over charged because he wasn't prepared. He didn't listen at the consultation and messed up the first tattoo with white. Now the white in the tattoo is blotchy and not filled right. We called to see if he could fill it in better because the white looks really bad, they said that we would have to pay another $100 after we already paid $600 for the tattoo that he messed up and reschedule eventhough it wouldn't take more then 10 min to fix. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone and I will...
Read moreReally awesome experience here. Got a tattoo from one of their apprentice artists and am super excited with the entire thing! Shop is kind of off the beaten path if you will. I have probably driven by here before and never noticed it. Not much to look at from the outside BUT inside it spacious, clean, bright and BIG! Checked in with the front desk and everything is electronic! Pretty cool! They texted me a link for the standard tattoo waiver form. Filled it out and signed it right on my phone. Pretty legit. Taryn (@taryntolkientattoos on IG) was my artist. We had communicated via DMs on Instagram to work on a design. She showed me what she came up with off my idea and it was WAAY better than what I had thought up! That's why I go to the pros so they can take my idea and turn it into art on my body. I was not disappointed in her work. I met and talked to some of the other artists as well. Solid vibe from everyone in the shop. Really good place! Professional, clean welcoming. I'll be back for more! From the receptionist to the brand new apprentice, Ian, everyone was super professional and awesomeness! Thanks for the epic job Cleveland Street! Update- 21 February 2022- Got a tattoo from Ian. Excellent experience. The other artists took time to come over and give him pointers and make sure he was doing everything correctly. He did awesome job and the entire experience was awesome again! Highly recommend this place wether you're in here helping out an apprentice by letting Ian do some ink on you or getting an appointment after waiting for a month or so from one of the bosses...this place is legit! Update 6 May 2022 Last week got another from Taryn who is now a fully trained/certified tattoo artist. This week...
Read moreI had a very complicated idea in my head for my tattoo, so I set the appointment in advance and paid a small deposit to secure my artist of choice. I did my research first from photographs online and in the books at the tattoo shop. I sent three photographs of things that were similar to what I wanted and asked for a very detailed drawing to be done. When I arrived for my appointment I anticipated that I would have to wait for him to draw my tattoo. But my artist Brian had already prepared for my arrival with a drawing already done and was waiting for my approval and any additional tweaking that I wanted to do. He fit the stencil to my arm perfectly & made a few slight changes to the drawing and we were ready to go. The whole process was by far my best experience at any tattoo shop, and I have been to several. He took an idea that was in my head and made a very beautiful piece of art that will be with me forever. His line work shows attention to detail & when I was unsure of a color pallet, he vocalized more than one option, & he was patient with me through the whole process. I have had other work done at Cleveland street by Pete and I get stopped by strangers almost every day and complimented on my tattoos. This is why I went back to Cleveland street for more work. My recommendation is that if you go to Cleveland Street tattoos: Take your time picking your artist. They are all very talented. Check out their previous work online and in books at the shop Make an appointment Remember you get what you pay for
