Was awesome to see them go from a food truck to a brick & mortar. Wanted a big breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and the fixings and I also wanted to support local so this was just what i needed. Went on a whim since it was close to my job. Small wait..but that’s to be expected the seat was kind of tucked in the corner but super cold in that area so I think my food got cold fast! Food came in a decent amount of time. Appreciate that my eggs were cooked EXACTLY like I ordered them. The red potatoes were a little burnt but not unedible and with the drive front Portsmouth and the wait I was now STARVING! I didn’t go with their signature pancakes (lemon ricotta because I thought that would be too much flavor for me) so I got just plain pancakes. It didn’t come with butter but she offered to get me some. I declined but would’ve eaten some if it was as already on it. Didn’t have/wasn’t given the option of heated syrup but that would’ve been a great bonus. Also because the pancakes-while freshly made and fluffy..didn’t have any flavor so maybe an infused/flavored syrup would’ve be a great perk. It was a bit busy but I sorta felt like I had to ask for more coffee, sugar, and creamer especially since the food wasn’t ready and I was sitting in a drafty area and that stuff wasn’t readily available. Towards the end of the meal she brought the check-but I had to let her know that I was interested in some of the bakery items in the display case that I saw on my way to my seat-so it would’ve been nice to be offered a chance to look before the final bill came. MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE was the cheddar rolls. Oh man those were delicious and so filling!!!! And I also grabbed a cherry cheese danish. Didn’t think I’d like it because I usually only like plain cheese danish but man I couldn’t stop taking spoonfuls. Overall EXCELLENT local place. Good food. Great bakery items. I’ll...
Read moreLONG STORY SHORT: THEY TOOK MY MONEY, AND THE OWNER REFUSED TO SPEAK WITH ME WHEN I CONFRONTED THEM ABOUT IT
Long story: I ordered from this place on their website. I paid extra for delivery, and the food was supposed to be delivered through a third party service. I ended up spending around 80 dollars on the website. After waiting nearly an hour for my food to arrive, with no updates on where my order was or even if it was on its way, I decided to contact the restaurant. The very nice and polite server on the phone helped me throughout the whole situation. I wish I would have gotten their name because they were so sweet through the whole process. The server told me I would have to go to the restaurant to get my food, since the third party wasn't going to deliver to me after they couldn't get in contact with them. The server even said that I would be able to talk with the owner of the establishment about my dilemma to discuss terms of a refund, considering I paid extra for delivery, and my food was not delivered. I went there, and I met the very nice server who had assisted me. They gave me my food and went to get the owner so that we could talk about a refund for the delivery fee, but the owner refused to speak with me. The owner wouldn't give me even a second of their time. I do not at all blame the kind server who helped me, but I am disappointed in the owner and how they didn't even bother to come and discuss the situation with me like an adult. They just stayed in the back and refused to speak with me, which I found very unprofessional. I didn't even get the refund for the delivery fee, so that's just amazing, really. Again, I really wish I knew the name of the server who helped me because they...
Read moreI have been to this place about five times now I have had breakfast once which consisted of lemon ricotta pancakes with a side of bacon and eggs all of which we're cooked to perfection, however the lemon ricotta pancakes are not the best I have had as far as specialty pancakes but that is not saying that they were not delicious. Best pancakes to date for me go to a place in Newport news called The grey goose and they where sweet potato pecan praline pancakes. The dinner that I had consisted of a Cuban sandwich and an appetizer of an assortment of melted cheese and incredible toast points to dip with, the Cuban was very good well put together and the bread had the perfect amount of crunch. Now to the best part, the bakery. This place is a toss-up for the best bakery in the Hampton roads area that I have been too, the only other bakery that puts up a fight is NAS bakery in Norfolk, but I think this place has more things on their bakery that taste better overall. The lemon sugar cookies where delicious, the orange roll was delicious, their specialty cakes have all been good so far, the fruit and cream cheese danishes are near perfect, and I think this might be the only place that has a cinnamon bun that I've had that might be as good if not possibly better then cinnabon!! And that hurts my feelings to say because I have loved cinnabon since I was a child. You really can't beat their...
