I've lived close to this place for almost 14 years but I had never been a patron. I did a Google search for "breakfast places near me" and this place showed up 3rd on the list. I love "mom & pop" style restaurants so the choice was clear that I was not going to select the 1st two choices.

What a great choice I made!!! I come in and it has an open kitchen concept where you can see the cook (Nick) working his magic. I am immediately greeted by a very nice employee (Zoey) and advises me it will be just a moment before I am seated because she needs to clean off the table. I am shown my seat, provided my menu and asked if I would like to anything to drink. After Zoey returned with my coffee, she promptly took my order. I ordered the French Toast Combo and a side of mozzarella sticks.

The wait for the food was not long at all, tasty, and it was presented well. I dove into the French Toast and immediately happiness came over me. That was some of the best French Toast I've ever had.

The servers do it all: they take your orders, they bus your table, they clean your table, the cash you out and they do the dishes. All of this while keeping a smile and positive attitude. The two young ladies (Lizzy and Zoey) working were both brand new and you would never have known better. I would absolutely come back and recommend you come...

This place is a hidden gem. I wanted some country fried steak and I googled country fried steak places and this place popped up. I honestly have driven right past this place several times and not one time did I realize this place was here. I called first because lately all the breakfast places have been having wait times 45+ and I have my kids with me and they don’t have the patience to sit. So when I called someone said there was no wait for dine in. Got in was greeted by the waiter who told us we could seat ourselves which I love. Found a spot and was able to order right away. I ordered country fried steak, cheese grits, with cheese eggs and toast. I also got my kids pancakes, sausage and eggs. Once we got our food everything was fresh and hot! My kids ate every crumb off of their plate and I ate almost the entire plate in one sitting. That country fried steak was so delicious! It was juicy, the gravy tasted amazing, my cheese eggs were cheesy where I can actually see the cheese, my cheese eggs had just the right amount of cheese in it. The pancakes were soft and fluffy, the sausage was super good. The size of the place is a little small but this will not stop me from coming back. The food was superb and me and my family will definitely be returning. 5 out of 5...

6/13/2020 - the day we found a new staple breakfast joint.

We ordered take out - they were so friendly and were wearing masks (during the COVID pandemic, it’s nice to know they’re taking precautions). When my husband brought the food home, we dug in right away and holy wow was it delicious food!!! I got the French toast with a side of home fries. The home fries were perfectly crispy but still soft on the inside (they were cooked with bacon. I repeat, bacon.🤤). The French toast had a beautiful creaminess about it but still had a sturdy/thick structure. It was perfectly dusted, with just the right amount, of cinnamon sugar and then two sides of warm syrup. Delicious is an understatement. My husband got the biscuits and gravy plate and he couldn’t stop singing praises as he ate. All in all, I’d give them a 10/10. Decently priced, sweet staff and amazing food (also it was quick, not sure if that’s because of the pandemic or if they’re always like that 😝). Give them a...

Sorry Big Grill, I've been wanting to try you guys after seeing the reviews, but, it's a 👎 over here. I ordered a fried chicken sammie and a side of home fries. Sando was $10 and home fries $4. The sandwich was sad af. Typically, I'd order my fried chicken sandwich from A Bite of Maine $10, and it's gigantic! (Didn't want to drive there, my bad and a huge mistake for wanting to try something different). This was just another frozen, deep fried hunk of junk. I even ordered a cpl of fried chicken sandos from Wendy's and paid a fraction of the cost. My pics reflect the comparison from the Big Grill chicken, on the left, and regular ol Wendy's on the right. Y'all wanna hand bread fresh chicken and charge $10, cool! But, for frozen shit from Cysco, that price should be cut in half. 😘

Went here for brunch with a friend after searching brunch spots nearby. I walked in and it's a quaint sized restaurant with a diner atmosphere. The wait staff immediately greeted my friend and I and told us to sit anywhere. We were greeted by our waitress immediately and served our drinks and food very quickly. When we asked for a mimosas, we were greeted with a few options, to our surprise. We could have peach, mango, or orange. My friend got the peach and I got the mango and they were both absolutely delicious! It's a very good price for the food to quality and quantity ratio. Lots of delicious food for cheap! I really enjoyed everything. If you ever go there try the peanut butter and banana french toast. What a glorious spectacle..and quite tasty too might I add 😉

This place AMAZED me with the taste of their food and calm ambience. It doesnt looks fancy or glamorous from outside and inside. But their food was really good. Their jalapenos sauce on corned beef and potatoes is MIND BLOWING GOOD, MUST TRY. I have never had Crispy French Toast but tried it there it was a perfect combination of soft and crispiness.Their own made peanut butter with banana and French toasts is another delicious item. 5 stars. Everyone should go there and I can bet you will never be disappointed. All of the staff keep their calm selves despite if being very busy mostly in weekend. Corned Beed and Hash with jalapeno sauce special is my fav. ANYONE WHO IS VISITING NORFOLK OR VIRGINIA BEACH SHOULD TRY THIS PLACE.
